MST 3000 remind me of Unskippable

I recently started watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 on the glorious Netflix and I couldn't help but notice that the humor is similar to this website's Unskippable. I was just wondering if the Unskippable guys used that show as some inspiration for their jokes.

Yes, they even go out and mention that MST3K was a heavy influence on Unskippable in their Let's Play video. If they somehow managed to get one of the cast of that glorious show to come on as a guest for even just one show, that would SO make my day.
