mtg card sleeves

I can't afford to buy sleeves for all of my decks (even some good ones) and i'm suddenly aware of and feel terrible about it. Am I the devil?

If the combined monetary value of the cards in your deck is greater than the cost of at least 60 sleeves, then you shouldn't be playing that deck. Just wait until you can afford proper protection.

If not, then what does it matter? Play with them, let their condition deteriorate.

Why should you be? I myself never bought card sleeves until they came up with the flippable cards. Anyway, if you keep the cards right they won't get bent or torn or anything.
