We all have that band or artist that you listen to when no-one else is around. Whatever that reason is that you dont make it public, it hides the fact that you have everey ZZ top album or something. Not something thats just uncool or weird. I'l defend My Chemical Romance to the day I die, and people still laugh at me.

Me? Well... I started listening to them just about a week ago. Good Charlotte call themselves punk pop but sometimes they just sound like a mature jonas brother... By that I mean the songs are verry....sappy. The rythm guitarest is a creeper and the songs are simple but I dont really care. I just wanna live is a good freaking song.

Guilty pleasures in music?

*This has been done before but threds need to be updated at least yearly (my opinion)*

I don't feel guilty about any of my music choices.

I'm pretty open about the fact that I listen to lots of stuff from Aqua Timez to Slipknot and from Tool to The Spice Girls.

...*sigh*

I actually like "My Humps" by Black-Eyed Peas and "Help Me, Dr. Dick" by E-Rotic. The first one has terrible lyrics, but great music. The second is catchy as hell and funny to listen to (even though it's technically not comedy). Can't think of any actual bands or singers whose discography fills me with gratified shame, though (three of four Britney Spears songs and most of N'Sync's early work aside).

Granted, I will also defend the Backstreet Boys to the day I die, but that's mainly because I don't feel guilty about enjoying their music.

I've only ever listened to "Welcome to the Black Parade," but I really like that song, so I can sort of identify.

I like J-pop.

There, I said it!
Same here. Do not be embarrassed, rejoice in the J-Pop!

But I do listen to a bit of Will Smith.

I don't have any. All metal kicks ass...except, you know, metalcore, deathcore, nu-metal, and most Death/Scream Metal i've heard kinda suck.

Edit: and this can be iffy to most people.

As often as I have encountered the term, I'm still not entirely familiar with the concept of guilty pleasures. As far as I can tell, it's "I really like this but I'm afraid to admit it out of fear for some sort of social rejection". Which is just retarded.

As I've mentioned in an earlier thread just like this, I don't think there's such a things as guilty pleasures, just insecure people.

Agreed, minus the guilt part, being a male in high school and all. I kinda like them in secret and don't see why they're that evil, though a good bit of it's nostalgia.

Nope can't think of anything I am ashamed about, maybe because I don't think much about other people's opinions.

People associate them with the boy band glut in the 90s.

Kinda frustrating, since not only is their discography is a helluva lot better, they actually managed to wrest control over their music away from their (apparently greedy and unscrupulous) producer. Not to mention that their musical style evolved over time.

I'm open with just about anything music-wise. Though sometimes I catch myself enjoying a typical "WOO WOO BITHCES AND GUNS" rap song, then realize what I'm listening to and go clean my ears out with something immasculine.

I can't really say much about that, since my liking for them comes from when I was about 6 (before I really learned the stereotypical "boys should not do x" thing), but I do still consider their music to have legitimate quality. Sure, it's pop and rather airy, but not like they're much worse than...a lot of stuff, really.
Should I go hide in my floating doom fortress for now?

It's really rather hard to defend me listening to J-pop and rave when I look like a generic metalhead...

So I'd say that anything that fits into those categories are my guilty pleasures.

Oh, and Lady Gaga, I can't stop listening to her songs. >_<

I'm generally a hard rock/metal fan, but I also enjoy Cartel, Modest Mouse, and A Day To Remember

Most Tenacious D songs. You CAN'T play those in public and not have someone look at you strangely.
