How many of you get inadvertanty hyped, sad, or otherwise emotionally influenced when you're caught off guard by music? Most recently, for me, was the song from the intro to sfxt. It's Honest Eyes by Black Tide, if anyone wondered. It gets me hyped into playing the game,or working out, or fighting...or anything overtly physical.

Anyone else?

The guitar solos from Coheed and Cambria's The Broken [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-U6NKKCwJU] and Far [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDfi8UF2goY] tracks usually shoot ice down my spine, as does Teddyloid's Corset Theme [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t3kAp1wawU], provided that one's loud enough.
And it really helps if I'm drunk.

I have a question for you, I like the song Honest Eyes a lot, but I can't seem to find a very clear HD/HQ video for it on Youtube, where do you listen to it, do you know of a clear sound version?

On topic:

Yes a song awhile back caught me SO off guard emotionally. I was in the car with my aunt and she put in a Billy Joel album into the music player. She turned to the song "She's always a woman to me" and said "this is my favorite Billy Joel song".

I hadn't heard it before, and BOY did I get emotional, I cryed right in the car.

Also "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Conner, that song is my go to cry song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_A0ybW5LmU should do it.

I think this needs some explanation. Prior to his most recent set of albums under the DTP name, Devin Townsend lived a kind of fucked up life, filled to the brim with drugs and alcohol. In 2007, he abandoned his musical projects and tours, quit drinking, stopped doing all drugs, and set out to write music on his own, with no outside influence.

This is a song from that time. I see it as Devin expressing the intense temptation to return to his old lifestyle, in a way that shows how unbearably intense that fight is for him. Hence the complete and utter sensory overload as the song transforms.

Every time I listen to the song, I think I'm prepared. Yet as many times as I've listened to it, I never am.

I can get really psyched up by the right music in a club or festivial. Good dubstep or drums n bass...

Im like a unco dancing version of a berserker. Sometimes I can barely walk after the music stops.

Recently discovered this, and it made me feels kind of sad or nostalgic or something. Either way, I can't stop listening to it :p

Hmmm too many to think of but one that comes to mind is 'Heaven Shall Burn', the Introduction of Iconoclast (part 1: The final Resistance) which then leads to 'Endzeit'. A great contrast and gets my completely hyped up no matter what

Nothing gets me as hyped up as The Tempest, by Pendulum.

Kudos on exposing more people to Hevy Devy!

I haven't found a new track that utterly blew my mind in about three years. I've heard lots and lots of good ones. No song since Meshuggah's Bleed has consistently blown me away for that long, though.
