Sometimes, i can't believe some people, just take a read at this Article. It acctualy made me sick.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/8126357/Muslims-clash-with-police-after-burning-poppy-in-anti-Armistice-Day-protest.html

I mean, i can see where they are coming from, but burning a poppy was extremely out of order, and the chants they were doing as well.

Your thoughts?

Pretty terrible. As much as i dislike the current wars, they're not "crusades on Islam", nor any other religion. They should be protesting against science, as that's done far more to damage religion. But that's a different matter.

these people are demonstrating their ignorance that the poppy signifies ALL british troops, not just the ones in iraq. It symbolizes, for example, the men and women who died in world war II. People who died for THE WORLD. And i think that is the saddest part of this case.

They are literary demonizing the very country that gave them freedom.
Whoever does not respect democracy, should not be treated by it's means.

I can understand why they are protesting but Muslims seriously just need to calm the fuck down.
Yeah some horrible shot was done in your countries but if you start preaching your fire and brimstone bullshit saying how Islam will dominate will get you no sympathy.

....Reguardless of being Muslims, Brits, Aussies or whatever; Fucking grow up. All we want was a whole 2 minute silence to those who fought to keep the world safer for as many people as possible, and here these clowns are, harassing everyone and preaching the bullshit of Islam smiting everyone.

I'm glad I left the Army to be honest, If I had to see this in person I would have snapped in a second. :|

I figure, if some businesses and religions can have the use swastikas grandfathered in, then Muslims--and, for that matter, the Chinese--can suck it up and stop moaning when they see a poppy on Armistice/Remembrance Day.

its a good thing that democracy there is collapsing there, isnt it?

Honestly... I've just decided to ignore whatever muslims do. Not out of spite, or hate, or to sound ignorant, but its getting so horribly overblown. I mean, you never hear about the muslims that do "good" (depending by your definition) in the world. Its pretty much a slander against the religion.

And yes, i get that they are saying things they probably shouldnt, and that this isnt in America where Freedom of Speech is more liberal. BUt these are people protesting a specific thing and needed something to make a message. SO I cant really say what they do is wrong, because its not to them.

Also, the British are some of the last people who should talk about Democracy seeing as how they ran their colonies (even the ones in India), and the government structure they have now.

Wait, they're from a group called "Muslims Against Crusades"?

The definition of "crusade": "Any vigorous, aggressive movement for the defense or advancement of an idea, cause, etc."
So...are they going to crusade against themselves? Now there's a fun scenario to visualize. :)

Democracy is collapsing all around Europe.
It's time to go back to old world values before it's too late
Malmo, Sweden already has a 25% Muslim population

Not Crusades on Islam? Well watch some News on the popular stations and ask the average Man on the street who the enemy is. The main reason for the wars is indeed not a war against islam, but the media turned it that way, on both sides. No one is talking about the reason being still cleaning up the messy aftermath of the cold war.

Thats so grossly horrifying and ignorant Its a small wonder muslims are anti... well... Anti west. At least the terroristic ones. Being muslim has nothing to do with hating democracy. there are plenty of muslims i know that are perfectly happy in a democratic world. And most major, and non major countries too, dont have a purely democratic system. So it cant fail if it doesnt exist. You sir or mam hav emade your argument invalid.

The thing that annoys me most about this is the fact that it gives other muslims (such as myself) bad images. I mean, most people would instanly think terrorist if a Muslim or something invloved with Islam showed up in the news.

I'd hope the "average man" would identify the difference between a religion, and a splinter group of hardcore radicals who would embarrass the true followers of islam. Anyone too stupid to say "islam is the enemy" clearly has no understanding of world politics. I also wouldn't say the media has turned it into a war on islam at all, but i will say that it has demonized it slightly.

I'm very sorry, and I'm sure I sound very uneducated, but I've never heard of burning poppy and don't know why it's even a big deal.
Is this a British thing?
Can someone please give me a little insight?

I'm not a 100% expert on this stuff, but brits hold a special thing called a remembrance day, for all the fallen soldiers. The poppy is a kind of symbol for it. Burning it would be the (kind of) equivelent to burning a flag.

Well the average citizens stupidity sadly doesnt stop at falling for conservatives that are ripping them to shreds afterwards. My faith in humanity gets challenged everyday for new.Its half a miracle if someone still knows the difference between muslim and islamistic.
