Must have games for PS3?

I'm buying a PS3 on the 17th/18th when I get paid, what are the must have games to buy for Playstation?

So far I'm getting;
- Killzone 2/3

Demon's Souls, Little Big Planet, inFamous are my top 3 in terms of console specific, but you can't go wrong with some of the 3rd party with PS3 exclusive content such as Arkham Asylum's Joker maps.

inFAMOUS 2 is a blast, god of war, Little big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Demon's Souls (buy some extra controlers for that one), Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2, Bulletstorm, and Bioshock 1.

A lot of people are talking a lot of sense, here.
Yeah, as far as exclusives go, those are the ones to get.
I think Mass Effect 2 comes with all the DLC too, but...don't quote me on that.

I would say the PS3 exclusives are the best territory for 'must have PS3 games'. The Uncharted series, LittleBigPlanet 2 and the two Infamous games. Though in all fairness all the games said above are very good examples and I'd be just repeating them.

Uhm, guys help me out here... Did Tales of Vesperia actually get released outside of Japan for the PS3? I have the game for my Xbox 360.

Anyhow, if you like RPG's and want something original get Threads of Fate.

I would have to say Heavy Rain and L.A. Noire are two good choices. There are some plot holes in Heavy Rain but the game-play is pretty good. The Sam & Max games that you can get from the PSN store are pretty fun too.

If I had a PS3, I would instantly get NHL 11, because the franchise stopped doing games for PC after the '09 version, and that's been one of the major reasons of even ever thinking of getting a console.

Arrival and the extra weapons and armour are seperate, otherwise yeah.

Interesting games, but I recommend getting those for the PC instead. DMC4 had some extra stuff for the PC. Can't recall what; was it an extra difficult level? Fallout NV has some awesome mods, which can't be used on the console. So only buy those games for the PS3 if your PC can't handle them.

Yeah I generally assume if someone is buying a console it's because they can't run modern games though. Certainly if you can get the mods of New Vegas get them, I can't say what the pc port is like though. Games like that just seem made to be played on a controller.

Fallout is better with mouse and keyboard. DMC is better with controller.

Regardless, you can always hook up a controller to your PC if you really want to.

Also, buying a PS3 besides a PC could be for the exclusive console games or to utilize it as a blu ray player. Plus, I hope for OP's sake that he has another gaming system besides the PS3. ^^
