I don't know why but the text in error message and few other programs becomes smeared. Does this happen to anybody else? Does anybody know how to fix it?

This one is with highlighted text. Notice how the highlighted box around the text is warped as well.

Thats really weird, if its not an issue with the moniter itself, it could be something to do with graphics drivers or maybe even your graphics card itself (could be nearing the end of its days). Although there wouild be some kind of integrated graphics thing bundled into the computer as well so thats probably not it. Maybe its something to do with your windows install corrupting, but these are all genneral stabs in the dark and I'm probably nowhere close to the actual problem. I vaguely recall seeing something that looked like this years ago with windows xp though... Ill have a think about it and hopefully have something more accurate to help you with.

Also, have you dried going into your display settings for windows and checking that the font and text size are as they should be? I think theres an option for smooth text or perhaps its something to do with the Aero UI wondows vista and 7 are so fond of. Does the problem still happen if you switch to the windows classic view? If the text is only buggering up in some places its probably not an issue with resolution or refresh rate on your moniter... and also probably not a hardware thing like I said above.

Do you have an AMD Radeon card? If so this problem is caused by the Morphological Filtering feature. It's a post processing filter meant to smooth out jagged edges in games with no anti aliasing support. However, it also affects 2D applications as well, causing the text blurring effect. Go into your Catalyst Control Center/Vision Engine Control Center, go to the 3D tab, and uncheck the morphological filtering box. The checkbox should be right above the Anti-Aliasing slider.

And if that doesn't work, check your theme settings and make sure you didn't replace one of the system fonts with something weird. That Windows Live Messenger screen looks more like the font has been switched than it looks like the video is somehow being smeared.

There may also be some kind of ghost in your computer.

I recommend formatting your C drive. And then burning it.[footnote]The Healer takes absolutely no responsibility for any formatted and or burned hard drives.[/footnote]

You nailed it, I turned off the morphological filtering and everything went back to normal. Thank you and everyone else for the help.
