So, here's the thing: I downloaded episodes of "so you think you can dance" to burn them on a DVD for my sister. Everything is going well... But a while after the burning process started, the audio from one of the episodes started to play, and there's no program running! I can't stop it because I don't know how! Please Help Me!

Thats the machines punishing you for downloading.

Piracy is a crime, like murdering babies, and will be punished when the computers rise against mankind!

I sometimes get this happening too, when i close a media player, sometimes its closed and yet the sound keeps playing for some time. try ctrl+alt+del and see if its still running in the processes, that should sort it.

I once had what sounded like people talking on the radio come through my speakers, even though I had just logged on and hadn't been on the net.

Downloading episodes from a TV show is as much of a crime as recording a show on a VHS or tivo or whatever.

Thanks, and yeah, I know the show sucks, it's for my sister who's been in Europe for 2 weeks and is coming back tomorrow.

That happens to me all the time. I live near a radio tower, though, so that explains it. Still rather annoying when in the background of everything is the Spanish music station.

Check out your bottom right hand part of your desktop as sometimes they minimise to there and keep working like Limewire. (I dont approve of piracy but when I download torrents its for games I already have and have become corrupted or the disk broke.)

Reminds me of a problem the Nostalgia Critic had once. His computer played the audio of the first Ghostbusters movie over and over and over again. He had to get a new one.

Well, good luck!

Ctrl-Alt-Del, and search your processes list. Pick ones at random to end and hope it is the right one. The alternative would be your computer getting screwed up.

It's the process still running. All you need to go is press ctrl/alt/delete and open up task manager, click on the process tab and end the programs process.
Concerning Spirit_of_fire, I have that too, except its my mic, it picks up radio signals. Everybody in my WoW guild now thinks I listen to Cher...

Yeah, sometimes when I close Windows Media Player the audio continues for a few more seconds. But your case seems to be an extreme example of such things. I suggest you just enjoy listening to the show and be glad it wasn't porn or something.
