So, the multiplayer demo for Crysis 2 is out on the PC and I gave it a shot.
The controls are quite good for an FPS and better with the nanosuit.
Q engages armor, E engages clock and speed is just a sprint function, all of this made it feel more like you are in control of the suit unlike the selection wheel of the first game.
The graphics are amazing. It looks better then Crysis and works better as well, with only some screen tiring now and then.
As far as the gameplay goes, I didn't notice any hit detection problems or lag (for the most part anyway).
Long story short, its a damn good demo that (in my opinion) showcases the new engine wonderfully.

I'm still ticked with super-speed being reduced to a simple sprint. In the first game it felt like you were speed-hacking. In this one you go just as fast as you normally sprinted in the first game.

So far I have enjoyed the demo as well, but I too have a few things that didn't settle well with me.

The speed got nerfed, which is a shame because I liked sprinting and NOT using suit energy and then going into speed mode when it was needed. But given how slow it is now it's negligible.

No more on the fly weapon customization is a damn shame, I don't mind the system they have in place for it now, but on the fly customization meant you didn't have to wait till you died in order to modify your weapon when needed.

While the controls are solid...there is something off. In the first game everything felt very fluid and there was real impact to everything. This feels a tad detached or something, it just doesn't feel the same for some reason. Now grant it, the controls and everything are still solid, it's just if you played the first game you'll just notice something is just different to the overall pacing.

Really, I can see where people get the "consolized" and "call of duty" connotation from. It does have that feeling to it, but at the same time it still manages to maintain the spirit of the game and I still had a lot of fun with the game. Just a matter of getting used to these changes, hasn't deterred my my purchase of the game.

Oh and the system options have me concerned as well. The graphical settings in the demo are piss poor. You only have the ability to adjust brightness, vsync, resolution, and select low, medium, high, ect... for graphics. Where the hell are my advanced options so I can tweak AA, shadows, textures ect? This has me worried about the full game, as it would be down right stupid making the options so limited like that. Now grant it this IS a demo so I can understand if they didn't put that all in, but it raises alarms. I hope the full game has all the advanced options or I will be very disappointed. Game still rand super smooth though which I can't complain.

Well that's just my 2 cents....Imma gonna go play some more :p

im very pleased with the demo. the suit helps add something new to familiar fps scenarios. two guys on you? armour mode up to even the feild. sniper bothering you? cloak up and stealth kill that guy (very satisfying). the best thing about the demo i think is how the killstreak system works... you cant profit from staying put and sniping your way to a huey. plus the killstreaks are also randomised which i love. at first i didnt think thatd work out as well as i thought it would but it feels cool. the orbital lazer is definatly my fav killstreak lol. I hope they increase the movement speed a bit however... like many people have been saying movement feels slow and the "super sprint" doesnt feel that super.
Yea so far the kill streaks looks be be alright and not suffer terrible balance issues like Call of Duties. Although I doubt we have seen ALL of the kill streaks, no point in showing em all off in the demo. But if so far they look like less of a crutch and more like actual support.

i like what ive seen, not too impressed by the engine if im honest... after playing it on the xbox, just looks like the pc got a "sharper" port of it which i knew would happen... maybe when the full game is released the graphics mite be more tweak-able and i hope for some bigger maps, not cod style arena maps

Yeah, I got angry at that too. I was playing Crysis Wars a couple of days ago and the running was awesome!

I'm enjoying it so far too, but for some reason 3 out of 4 times when I join a server, everyone is just sitting in the lobby confused as the game simply will not start. Does anyone know why this happens?

As someone else mentioned on here, the graphics options are absolute bullshit. Low, med, and high, and their "low" is still high as hell. No options to turn off shadows, bloom, shaders, high textures....count me out.

I liked it, not a big fan of online shooters but it was fun, except for the hunt for a good server which wont shut down after 4 minutes of gameplay. The game itself looks and plays great on my old pc, max settings even(not much to choose from tho) , when launching the demo it gave me a warning that my 8800gs wasn't supported so i thought wtf, but it runs without any noticeable lag. The thing that bothered me the most was the sprint, it feels way too slow for a 'nano suit sprint' , so i would prefer if it didn't drain power since it doesn't look like anything special. Also stealth annoyed the **** out of me, i`m just not used to fighting invisible people, since the last online fps that i was really into was cs and that was even before the source engine was made.
