Hey guys, as none of you know, I'm 15. And I just had, what I would like to call, my very first epiphany.

I mean, today was just a normal day, but I was listening to music when, suddenly, I realized that no one's special. Not me, not you reading this, not anyone. I mean, this planet is [sub]small[/sub]. Compared to every thing else in the universe, its like 1 pixel on a 60' HD television. The chances that there are more planets like earth, with maybe an even more advanced civilization, is almost assured there are like 4,000 others.

Well that was my 2 cents. Discuss if you want. [sub]Please do :)[/sub]

Discussion guidelines:

1.Have you had an epiphany?
2.What was it?
3.How did it feel afterward?

Wait I'm not "Special",NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Now as for discussion value I believe it should be

Have you had an epiphany?
What was it?
How did you feel afterward?

Now I feel stupid because I've never had an epiphany

No, you have to make yourself special to be special. And that is my goal. To be known as special.

Except maybe "recognizable" or "philantropic" or something would be a better word than special.

I have no problem with you thinking you're not special at all, enjoy that. I, on the other hand, know you're thinking in wrong proportions and therefore I know I am special.

You can't think on that sort of scale for your entire life and stay sane. Just look at Gore.

While an admirable thought, and quite true, you'll one day have the epiphany that you need to focus on the small area around you more than the whole Universe. And once you start thinking like that, you're special again. I know, its sounds stupid and selfish, but if you walk around thinking your a grain of sand on the beaches of the cosmos, you'll start getting funny ideas, and perhaps start wearing funny hats.

EDIT: My most recent epiphany - admiral thought is not a real thing.

You call that an epiphany? Geez.

That's basically fact, I can't believe someone would think this was an amazing revelation.

My current MSN name is a famous quote, or corruption of a famous quote, that I think may be relevant: "Everything you do is insignificant, but it's important you do it."

I wouldn't call it an epiphany (I called it a mind explotion in class) but I had a really good idea when it came to the way we teach children music. I won't bore you with the details but I was quite proud of myself that day.

Yeah iv'e had a shitload. I think about these things allot, or i did when i was in school (nothing better to do). The last time i had one was when i came out of the 'my country is shit' faze. I realized that there are people out there who do live in a shit country where they deal with famine and genocide on a daily basis, and me whining about crap like 'the government is shit' was incredibly petty and i should just harden up.

I also realized that they complain about the same things in Europe, that was hilarious. Travelling does wonders for epiphany's.

Mine wasn't really an epiphany, but a series of them.

Basically, I was lying in bed waiting to go to sleep, and I started thinking about politics.

Basically, I can sum it up to "If I got elected this is how I would turn America into a Dictatorship" the plan has some lose ends, but I think it could work.

I didn't mean it in a real mean way, I'm just in a rather literal mood.

I wouldn't think about it too much, it would make everything seem pointless.

Yes; it was just how insignificant I am to everyone else, and vice versa. Maybe I'm just a really cynical depressed person with broken emotional ties. But my Senior Lock-in at my school reinforced it pretty well considering I saw basically everyone I was once friends with whom I barely talk anymore. That's a broad category, it holds 99.9% of my senior class (~1000).

So yeah, that was kind of depressing seeing every girl I wanted to date, several ex's hanging off of former best friends, etc etc.

I also got depressed because I realized most of life is based on luck. Which I have 0.

I realized this a long time ago, after watching some guy on t.v. do something. Apparently he could control electricity from a tesla-coil or something, and my mom was like "Wow! Look at that! Isn't that amazing?"

That has therefore fueled my apathy towards people. So what if someone can do something awesome? If I can't do it, why should I care?
