Hi fellow bronies.
I was just gonna post this on an existing pony thread but not only was it off topic, but kinda a lot of information for just a comment, so I'll leave my comfort zone and try my hand at a thread.
Sorry to those of you sick of the ponies everywhere, but I recommend you take notice as well, the message I'm linking to gives a good message either way.
This was recently posted on Equestria Daily:

I'm not sure where the writer posted it first, but regardless, some of you have probably already read it.
That's an open letter to the brony community from a concerned brony, and I have to say, it's a good read.
It moved me a bit, and I agree with everything he said, so I'm trying to pass on his message and hard work.
It's a long read, but I assure you, it's well worth it.
So my question to you is, of course, do you agree with what he is saying?
But also, what are your thoughts on the MLP subculture in terms of the friendliness etc. of the people themselves?
And to those who are not part of our culture: Do his words still carry some weight to you? I think what he is saying can, and should, be applied to the everyday lives of everybody.
I have to say i agree that I found the MLP fandom, surprisingly, to have an incredibly welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me want to hang around. It was nothing like the troll den I expected.
Maybe some more seasoned bronies can shed some light on how the fandom compares now, to the earlier days.
