Looking forward to seeing people take the story WAAYYYY to seriously. I'm not kidding that's stuffs funny.

"Brilliance" is a bit strong. MLP is a good series, it's just that the first two-parter doesn't quite reflect what the series is actually like: More of a "slice of life" kind of show. Also, the original two-parter is probably the cheesiest part of the series, and that's saying something.Genocidicles said:

OT: I like what I see with this preview. Not a huge fan of the song, but everything else intrigues me. Personally, I'm curious to see what kind of villain this guy turns out to be.

I'd say that that clip is more indicative of MLP's quality than the first episode that you watched, yes. To add on what a previous poster said, the first episode is by no means bad, but it's utterly unlike the rest of the series, and frankly rather cheesy. If you're open to it I would recommend trying a different episode before making a final decision. At least you'll have given it a try.Genocidicles said:

In their defense, Discord is a very good villain. He's an evil bastard while still being quite funny and entertaining to watch, and that's really all you can ask for. I thought it was kind of interesting how they showed him using the flaws of the different Elements against the six, like forcing Loyalty to choose between her home and her friends, or showing Honesty a terrible truth that she would rather not believe. It was quite clever, considering how simplistic most cartoon villains tend to be.Eddie the head said:

Back to the topic at hand, I'm extremely excited to see the next season come around. It's been far too long without new content; and while the Bronies are probably the most creative and active (and in my opinion best) fanbase around right now, there's only so much we can do without new material.
It's a pretty solid part of the Show. There are better episodes (*Cough* Luna Eclipsed *Cough*) but it looks good so far. However, if you are going to get into the show, don't get into it for the fandom. Just some advice.Genocidicles said:
