I could not find this anywhere even with the search bar but if it has been posted before, forgive me.
Anyway, I'm kinda iffy on the villian. He looks more weird than evil.
Like how Discord is the most evil villain in existence, despite being a palette swap of Q?Eddie the head said:Looking forward to seeing people take the story WAAYYYY to seriously. I'm not kidding that's stuffs funny.
Yeah stuff like that. It's like when people try and say the Phantom menace was good it's just funny.Soviet Heavy said:Like how Discord is the most evil villain in existence, despite being a palette swap of Q?Eddie the head said:Looking forward to seeing people take the story WAAYYYY to seriously. Check the corresponding EternalNothingness thread.TheKasp said:People really thought that? I always just said that he was basically Q. And I did not see a truly evil being in this series, not even the villian of the finale.Soviet Heavy said:Like how Discord is the most evil villain in existence, despite being a palette swap of Q?Eddie the head said:Looking forward to seeing people take the story WAAYYYY to seriously. People learned to stop taking him seriously after he showed us his Sonic Inflation fetish. It's truly hilarious. But his analysis of Discord was actually in line with a lot of the "taking it waay too seriously" attitudes of more hardcore MLP fans.TheKasp said:Since when can he be taken serious? It is the same as Zeel or Kumatoru or whatever he was called (the guy who hated Ubisoft and other bs).Soviet Heavy said:Check the corresponding EternalNothingness thread.
Last time I saw a thread by him the consens was that he was thinking too much into it (about everything).
"Brilliance" is a bit strong. MLP is a good series, it's just that the first two-parter doesn't quite reflect what the series is actually like: More of a "slice of life" kind of show. Also, the original two-parter is probably the cheesiest part of the series, and that's saying something.Genocidicles said:So is that clip indicative of MLP? I watched the first episode and thought it was pretty crap, but I had people saying the first few episodes are nothing like the 'brilliance' of the rest of the series.
I admit I've never had that. I've had people SAY that it's good, me included, but I've never had someone try and say it. It must come out funny.Eddie the head said:Yeah stuff like that. So you feel better now?Sandjube said:I admit I've never had that. I've had people SAY that it's good, me included, but I've never had someone try and say it. It must come out funny.
I'd say that that clip is more indicative of MLP's quality than the first episode that you watched, yes. To add on what a previous poster said, the first episode is by no means bad, but it's utterly unlike the rest of the series, and frankly rather cheesy. If you're open to it I would recommend trying a different episode before making a final decision. At least you'll have given it a try.Genocidicles said:So is that clip indicative of MLP? In their defense, Discord is a very good villain. He's an evil bastard while still being quite funny and entertaining to watch, and that's really all you can ask for. I thought it was kind of interesting how they showed him using the flaws of the different Elements against the six, like forcing Loyalty to choose between her home and her friends, or showing Honesty a terrible truth that she would rather not believe. It was quite clever, considering how simplistic most cartoon villains tend to be.Eddie the head said:Yeah stuff like that. It's a pretty solid part of the Show. There are better episodes (*Cough* Luna Eclipsed *Cough*) but it looks good so far. However, if you are going to get into the show, don't get into it for the fandom. Just some advice.Genocidicles said:So is that clip indicative of MLP?
