Hey everyone,

I have around 170GB of music and it's in a real mess. I'm looking to organise everything, add tag info, album art etc. but need a free program to do it. Have surfed the web for a good program and failed to find one... can anyone reccomend a decent program?

Cheers :)

170GB? holy shit, I only have ~21GB. Umm, I use iTunes, it does everything you want to do in terms of organising your music.

Pretty sure you can do it all in windows, except maybe album art, but WMP has a way of grabbing that when its got the album info. So you could do it in windows, WMP, Winamp lets you do it, every media player should let you do this to some extent or another.

You put my 26GB (20.1 days) to shame. Itunes.
Also, if you mean file-wise.... I just have music folder/artist name folders/album folders/music.

Describe what you would consider to be, "organized." Do you want to re-arrange all your music files into a comprehensible directory hierarchy? Or do you want a browseable, searchable index of the files you have? Are you looking to automatically eliminate duplicates? Is your music collection all on one storage volume, or several?

If you're running Linux, you might have a look at Amarok [http://amarok.kde.org/].

I have nothing to say but HOLY JESUS MAN! You could listen to music for months and not hear the same song!

I was just going to suggest systematically going through your music library and adding things along the way like I do... but then I noticed that 0 after the 17...

Good luck my friend!

Windows Media player is free, and I think iTunes is free if you just don't sign up for the store.

Both of these have been very useful for organizing my music.(although I recommend iTunes more because I think it's interface is more clean)

Itunes works fine, and you can just right click and get artwork as long as it's a fairly recodnizable band and their album titles in the right section.

What you have to do is but your head to the grind stone, and fix it all by highlighting and clicking rename and adding tags and album art until everything is pretty and neat.

My buddy has about 1TB of music, but all his music is .flac, so a 5 minute song is 500mb.
I would suggest winamp.
