I just finished installing Drakan: Order of the Flame, but before I got it done, I was having some issues with stuff, so I looked up how much getting a new copy would cost.

A LOT, apparently.

113.44USD, to be precise. I bought the game for like, $10! Why is it worth so much these days? It's sequel for the PS2's almost as bad, it's 8 years old now and it's selling for $56.94.

What the heck?

So what old games have you got and maybe enjoy going back to, but have turned into collectors items behind your back? I really wish I'd bought 2 copies! =D

EDIT: ARGH! Crashes when you start a game. "Engine has encountered a problem and must close, we're sorry for the inconvenience." Sadness!

No, I said the original (Drakan: Order of the Flame(Windows 95/98/ME)) is selling for $113.44, the sequel (PS2)(Drakan: The Ancient's Gates) is selling for $56.94.

Damn, Ninja'd! =d

He said that the sequel was going for $56.94. The game he bought was $113.

I own a copy of F1 Manager, I recently saw 4 copies on eBay going for something ridiculous... if you want ridiculous prices go to the play.com Playtrade section, people are ridiculous in there. I think there's copies of Kingdom Hearts II going for £50.

GAME takes in PS1 games for...

1p

And that is true.

However, a copy of MGS1 ran my upwards of £8.

None of my games have become collectors items. Not even collections of my old games are worth anything. Damnit.

He's talking about the sequel. Jokes, this place is like ninja heaven. I guess I'm too young to have many old games, I don't know how much a copy of theme hospital or something is worth.

Most games get cheap as they age. But as they age even more they go from old to retro and they get harder and harder to find. So when you see a pretty good game when it drops to a pretty low price it usually means in the next few years it will start to appreciate in value if its a game people actually want. Its a supply and demand thing. The sequel will probably start to follow the same road eventually.
