So RARE has put out two mediocre games Kameo and the new Banjo Kazooie, and one big FAIL in Perfect Dark Zero. Perhaps Microsoft never studied what made RARE a great company, Nintendo was great with them. In my opinion RARE was the best 3rd Party Nintendo ever worked with, Microsoft has been sitting on this gold mine but only pumping out pyrite and poop. I'm almost certain this has been said before but Microsoft for the love of all things gaming: "Bring Killer Instinct Gold to XBLA!" I guarantee sales will be huge, capitalize on your assets instead of doing things the hard way making us, the consumer/gamers lose faith in what was once on the most revered developers on Earth. Perhaps all the smart people from RARE left or were silenced Dan Rather-style, but it seems all that's left are over-ambitious retards that try and resurrect classics but end up killing them. Will we ever see another Perfect Dark or Banjo? Not likely, has my vision of them been tainted forever? Slightly but I have the originals to make up for it. Please don't make a new Killer Instinct leave us to our nostalgia and the perfection that is KI Gold. You wanna make money Microsoft? Do it......and stop making these bullshit puzzlers and hack n slash reduxs.....The floor is now yours Escapers........

And Viva Pinata. I don't see why you think they are so terrible I find Viva,Perfect Dark, and Banjo great games (Kameo is okay considering its a launch game)

I am surprised though that Killer INstinct has not already been rereleased considering they are doing that for the Banjo-Koozie series.

To be fair, PDZ wasn't that bad, it just had nothing to do with the original and was nowhere as good.

I think that Killer Instinct is owned in part by Nintendo and Midway. The only way for any Killer Instinct to be released or rereleased would to have it on all of the new gen consoles.

I would be a happy gamer if Xbox Arcade and RARE bought out DK1,2 and 3. But I am unsure of who still owns the rights. Banjo Kazoie was ok to play on Arcade but I want the classics back.

I think Nintendo owns the rights to DKC due to the fact that they released the games for the Game Boy Advance a couple years back.

I was about to go on a fanboy rant, but decided to quote this for its truth.

In my opinion, Viva Pinata and Nuts and Bolts are a couple of the best games on xbox, they just didn't sell all that well.

So, really, I think Rare are still making quality games, it's just they're not hitting the market the way Microsoft want them to.

Microsoft want them to rope in young, casual gamers but, unfortunately, what seems to happen is that they scare away core gamers by looking like a child's game.

I don't think Rare deserve to be written off, really, and I hope that Microsoft sticks with them, because they still know how to make a good game.

Oh yeah I forgot Midway was the publisher, no way they will let a golden ticket like KI be used by Microsoft without their cut. Which will be a crazy amount considering they're circling the drain.......Glad you reminded me dude

What's all this shit in this thread.

Three words, one expletive: Jet Force Gemini Motherfuckers.

That's what Rare need to get their asses doing.

Killer Instinct was shit. Proof once again that no western developer can make decent fighting games.

if you (the OP) are so convinced that Rare is out of original ideas, and can only hope to capitalize on 'classic' titles only to ultimately botch them, then why would you be anxious for Killer Instinct to get the same treatment....?

also, i think that you're overestimating the appeal of that game; it was really just a low-rent Mortal Kombat if you ask me....

Rare isn't the Rare it always was, people left and the designing philosophy (if such a thing can exist) changed. Shit happens and things go on. They are not a gold mine that Microsoft stops from making good games, they are a mediocre developer which has not made a good game in nearly 10 years. Why everyone stands around praising their excellence is beyond me. Its like praising a corpse for being a wonderful dancer and then complaining when it doesn't move. Just bury the damn thing and move on.

I agree, Microsoft is sitting on a gold mine and not using it. Rare was my favorite developer for a long time and then one day, poof they disappeared. Now I learn that they are lost some where in Microsoft?s colon. I have been dying for a new Killer Instinct and new Conker for a long time now but thank god I wasn't holding my breath during that time because I might as well be waiting for the second coming.
