Ok, I'm annoyed by the ending as well. But before landing on earth there were plenty of amazing moments, here's my 3. (Spoilers)
1. Curing the Genophage.
I haven't played through again yet but I had both Mordin and Wrex alive, the whole sequence, where I chose to tell them I'd been asked to sabotage it and eventually culminating in Mordins self sacrifice was just beautiful, not to mention talking to Eve about the Krogan returning to their old ways. And really seems to reflect my past decisions (this may just be an illusion though but hey! that's good writing then). When I completed this segment I was overjoyed, lots of fun.
2. Quarian-Geth war.
While it felt a little rail roaded (I was strongly against the war in ME2) but punching Admiral Gerrel felt great (and this was my Paragon Shep! I was just SO angry about the WAR). And Legions reveal that the loss of their space station (reading about the desperate distress signals being sent out by Geth that were blown into space made me sad) reduced their intelligence and made them turn to the Reapers for help, I almost slapped myself, of course they would!
3. Crew Conversations.
As small as it was, I really liked not having completely stationary crew. Walking into the kitchen and listening to Garrus and James trying to out do each other in war stories. And the banter between Mordin and Eve etc etc. Smaller crew but they felt more fluid and real. Made me care about them a whole lot more.
Anyway, those are my three.
