Name the game

So I read a long (very long) while back that there was this new game coming out that was supposed to be awesome.
It was a zombie game about this guy who was trapped in a city filled with zombies and mutants. There was a terrible fog that enveloped the city and it was cut off from everywhere by an earthquake or rivers or something and the military destroyed all the bridges so that no one could get out or in.
Some of the highlights in the game was that you could turn around while running forward and fire your gun at things chasing you. You could drive cars. There would be missions and things I think. There would be other humans for you to help or hurt. Also, the zombies would eat eachother if they went long enough without food so I think that it was somehow real time but maybe not.

I know it wasn't a Siren game because it wasn't set in Japan.

Oh, and there is a very slight possibility that it was canceled because I didn't hear anything after that but I don't think it was.

It wasn't Dead Rising, I know that for sure.
Dead Rush sounds a bit on target. I don't remember anything about it being multiplayer so I don't think Division Nine is right.

it was original for it's time. It was before the avalanche of sandbox games, and even before zombie games became really popular.
