Yeah, yeah I know this type of thread has been done to death but I feel like a bit of breezy movie discussion so name your all time top 10 AND a sentence to describe each one. Here goes mine (in no particular order):

The Dark Knight - An intelligent crime thriller with one of the best villain performances of all time.

Pulp Fiction - Awesomeley entertaining and wickedley funny.

Fight Club - Brutal mix of thriller and black comedy.

The Departed - Intense, smart, fast paced gangster movie.

Alien - One of the most suspenseful and influential horror movies with a sci-fi twist.

Priness Mononoke - One of the most beautiful and touching animated films I have ever seen.

Borat - Gut bustingly funny.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - An epic ending to one of the most ingrossing fantasy sagas of all time (blows Star Wars out of the water).

The Shawshank Redemption - Heartwarming and brilliantly made.

Donnie Darko - A really though provoking movie that messes with your mind in the best way possible!

The Dark Knight - My inner Batman fanboy loves this movie.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show- I obsessed over this film when I was younger and I still love it.
Armageddon- Watched this many times with my dad so it holds a special place in my heart.

Noroi: The Curse- One of the best horror movies I've ever seen.
House of 1000 Corpses/The Devil's Rejects- Just...wow.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles- Absolutely hilarious.

The Mummy - I don't care what anyone says; this movie is awesome.
Blazing Saddles - Oh, Mel Brooks, how I love your movies.

Ghostbusters - Classic blend of thrills and comedy that has yet to find a peer. (As in done something like it as successfully)
Fight Club - Was very pleasantly surprised when I watched this movie.
The Big Lebowski - That's just like, my opinion, man...
12 Monkeys - How can you not love the Terry Gilliam movie that took both Bruce Willis' tough guy image and Brad Pitts pretty boy images and destroyed them?
Taxi Driver - This is my alternate pick that would probably be replaced by Godfather...if I had seen it (please don't hit me.)
Die Hard - I appreciate what it did for modern action cinema.
The Day the Earth Stood Still - No, not the remake. Fuck the stupid remake. It missed the whole point.
A Clockwork Orange - So weird.
Indiana Jones: Raiders and Crusade - THE TWO INDY MOVIES THAT EXIST ARE BOTH GOOD.
Lawrence of Arabia - It's a totally engaging epic.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - the Mexican stand-off is my favorite cinematic scene of all time
Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut - yeah, it's got Orlando Bloom but I'm more of a big picture guy and the cinematography was fantastic
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Harrison Ford AND Sean Connery? Yes, please
Hot Fuzz - the way action and comedy should come together
Swingers - I love the dialogue between the guys, their interaction is not unlike that in my circle of friends
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - this is my guilty pleasure movie. It's pretty low-brow in some places but the cameos and music references are hilarious
Zombieland - pretty much the same reason as Hot Fuzz
Black Hawk Down - a pretty realistic portrayal of combat in a relatively unknown theatre of operations
Office Space - a comedy that everyone can relate to even if you've never worked a white-collar job
Blade Runner: Director's Cut - what appeals to me most is the retro feel of the movie's futuristic setting, the locales make the movie so engrossing

They're pretty simple and non-obscure choices but they always provide the escape and entertainment I look for in movies.

In no particular order except for High Plains Drifter
1. High Plains Drifter- A (possibly) dead Clint Eastwood goes around serving justice. What's not to like
2. Bridge on the River Kwai- Alec Guinness is just awesome in this, I've only seen one of his other movies and that one I really didn't like.
3. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly- I love Clint Eastwood
4. Marathon Man- Great thriller, all dentists should see it
5. 2001: A Space Odyssey- Pretty much every Science Fiction movie draws from this film, and Dune, but that movie was terrible.
6. All Quiet on The Western Front (1930)- One of the few book to film adaptions where the film got the spirit of the film. The Butterfly scene made me cry a little bit.
7. It's A Wonderful Life- A feel good movie
8. The Godfather- I'm Italian-American, these people are Italian-American
9. 12 Angry Men- For a courtroom movie, it's surprisingly exciting
10. Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid- I love westerns and the ending scene of this is very awesome
