Naming your gaming rigs

After deciding that it's time to retire my seven years old "gaming" PC (slightly upgraded Dell Dimension 5100 or something along those lines) and spending several months researching the topic (haven't been keeping up with the gaming hardware world ever since I finished school) I've finally ordered the parts I need. The remaining stuff should be arriving today.

A wild thought appears: this noble vessel of the interactive entertainment seas needs an equally noble name. While I struggle with naming mine (I'll come up with something eventually), I want to know if the idea has visited any other Escapist.

So, Escapists, what name, if any, have you given your gaming rig?

Not really. I call it "the computer". Anything else would be weird.

Every rig I build I have named IG-88 on any networks its on. I don't know why. It has just stuck from the old days.

All of my PCs are named Unit 00. When I build a new one, the old one is decommissioned and renamed by the new operator, or it is just dead and useless. Either way, my PC is Unit 00.

Mine is named Sigismund. Actually, all my family's electronic junk has a name, mostly based on German/Norse opera. Baldur, Siegmund, Donner, Sigismund, Otlinda, Valkyrie, Freya...And more recently I named a couple things for Japanese mythology - Kami and Kitsune. And my sister owns Azure, Ebony and Obsidian.

...Find a topic that interests you (like Japanese mythology or German opera) and name it after an element of that. That's what I recommend.

Because resonance is awesome as a nickname on steam as well lol.


Oh, and my galaxy tab 10.1 that I'm on right now is Resonance Unwired. Because I'm just that creative.

Mine has a Saints Row Fleur-de-lis sticker on the side so I just call it Boss. My PS3 is called Chunky though!

I call mine Amelia. Although she did just burn out a few transistors, poor thing. She's only three years old.

My old laptop was called Toshi.
My new laptop is called Anastasia. =P

I also call my Xbox360 The SeXbox. Just 'cause it's funny. The PS2 is also the PimpStation2000.

I think I'm the only one in my family that names stuff, though. They give me weird looks o_o

My Cell is R2,because it's an R2-D2.

Never named my platform machines, tho. :/

While my computer is called "WORK YOU F***ING PEICE OF SHIT!" sometimes. Other than that, no names.
