NaNoWriMo Begins!

Ok Escapist, from looking on the search results for this I see that a few people asked who was going to do it. But now it's on and would love to hear who really has started and how they are finding their first days?

Going well so far for me despite all my real life obligations. Hoping to get some words in hand during the first few days to counteract the inevitable off days. Looking forward to the evening when I can sit down and really go to town on it.

Edit: For those who don't know NaNoWriMo is a casual competition to write a novel during the month of November.

It stands for "National Novel Writing Month" I believe. But correct me if I'm wrong (anyone?).
And although it would be great fun to give this a go - I have way too much on to do this realistically

EDIT: And probs would help with an edit in the first post for anyone who doesn't know either - this threw me off the first time it was mentioned...

I'm going for it. Had an idea pop in my head this morning, so I figure why not? Last year I made it to a (pathetic) 13 pages, so I'm hoping I'll at least write 50 this year.

Why do you need to ask? That's what Google is for, just look it up. How hard is it to open a new tab and look? Also, if you don't know what it is then obviously you're not taking part, so why even bother commenting in the first place?

OT: First day and I've already hit a block. During the last month I've had several ideas thrown out because they just weren't feasible and now I'm left with a massive blank. I've got support from other people I know who are doing it so they can help (we've got this "support web" thing going where we're all helping each other), so I'm not worried. I've just got to sit down and think.

I'm doing it and so far I've gotten about a page down after about 45 minutes of writing so far. Hopefully I'll get down a bit more and get more done.

I forgot about NaNo completely until I listened to the song I was listening to when I wrote up my basic plan. Then I remembered. I started around an hour ago, which means I wasted around 23 hours of my first day already. 812 words in, and it already sucks.

I'm tempted to just shut down for the night, curl up, watch A Serbian Film, cry a bit, lose all faith in humanity (this is apparently really common at the Escapist for some reason) and then somehow dig up some inspiration and write more.

I got my word target for the day which was kind of difficult squeezing it in amongst taking care of my daughter. But off to a good start.

Well, I have ideas for novels, but no drive to ever get around to write them. Though admittedly one idea does seem better as a webcomic instead, if I could just find a good artist to help me...

But yeah, I probably won't, mainly because I have a lot of work to catch up on this month (don't ask) and am generally just too busy to ever get around to doing something like this. Good luck to those who do get involved, though

I didn't even knwo NaNa...NoNO..Na...No...Right..Write..Ma..Mo...Whatever it is...even existed. But now that I know, I'd love to take a part in it. That is, if I had time.
