So, I've recently got back into photoshoping (im using CS4), and whenever I wanted to change a color of a specific object within a pic, I used the layer>new adjustment layer> hue and saturation> coloration thingy (where you use the eraser) but I got a picture that has a white sky and im trying to change it to black and it doesn't work. I can change it to other colors and even to gray, but black doesn't work. Any advice?

The hue/saturation won't work with black and white images. It only changes around colors, and black and white don't count. My first thought would be to just do ctrl-I which inverts the color. That should turn it black, but the area around the selection might need some touch-ups. Besides that, the only thing I can think of is paint bucket and just fill with black. Hope that helps.
