Title says it all I'm looking a new monitor because the TV I use is not amazing (If I have v-sync of I see screen tearing) Budget is somewhere between £100 or £200 and it NEEDS to have HDMI support. Thanks
P.S anyone know if G-sync monitors are worth it?

Quickie: is HDMI itself a requirement, or is an HDMI->DVI converter acceptable? I.e. is it a requirement that you play sound through the monitor?

Note that HDMI->DVI converters don't result in any loss of quality. I've heard that G-Sync is good, but there's a standardised format ("DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync") that does the same thing.
I don't get sound from the monitor I get it from my headphones audio and I would prefer it to have a HDMI slot as there are alot of wires behind my computer I don't feel like adding to the pile

Acer has taken a huge step back onto the right track with their XB280HK G-Sync monitor, it looks pretty awesome.
