Now that Drake's in the can, I've finally gotten round to starting Arkham City. At present, I'm only about 2 hours in and
about to pay Mr. Freeze a visit

Now, I know it's still very early in the game and I probably shouldn't be fretting about such things, but having watched Yahtzee's review I understand that some of the side quests become unavailable when the game is completed. I'm just a little OCD about doing as many side missions as possible, so I'd like to know if there are any particular points of no return I should be aware of. In other words, is it only in the final act of the game that I should be careful about leaving things undone? Does the game helpfully warn you about quests becoming unavailable when you pass a certain point like DX:HR did?

If anyone could field these questions in a non-spoilerish way, I'd be very grateful.

I can't think of any side mission that'd become unavailable after doing the main story. Maybe the one where...what's the least spoilerish way to say this...Alfred tells you to go get something. But I've heard that it's still doable after completing the story (can't confirm that firsthand).

I've read complaints about things being blocked off after the end but I have no idea what would be, and I didn't get an warnings about that ingame either. I'm still not sure what side mission Yahtzee was talking about.

But look something up if necessary, or wait for more replies.

I *believe* that as long as you have started each sidequest then you won't have a problem. You can check in your status as to which ones have begun as the rest will have a ? in the box.

I didn't have a problem with missing side-quests or unattainable ones but I had started them all (bar one) and then finished them all off afterwards.
You should have picked them all up by the end anyway.
Also Calendar Man doesn't count as a side quest or effect your 100%. He's just there for an annoying achievement/trophy

Yahtzee said he consulted a guide and found this. I can't find anything listed as locked after completion, though.

So far, there are only a few missable things that I have found, none of which count towards your completion percentage. One of the trophies is missable, but can be obtained within 10-15 minutes of the start so no biggie. Most of the others are just Easter Eggs that are (naturally) easily missable (I missed 'em all first time through).

As for sidequests, most of them appear automatically on your map at some point during the story, and to my knowledge they don't disappear. Not 100% though.

I can confirm that it is still doable after completing the story (despite how that doesn't really make sense). Considering that the one quest that you'd think would be impossible after finishing the story wasn't, I'd guess that they're all doable. I don't know what Yahtzee was referring to.

Side missions are still available after completing the main story. Some can be hard to trigger, as you need to be in the right area (Identity Theft comes to mind). So feel free to go ahead and finish the main story if you want to.

I haven't come across any that are locked off after completion. Like what been said above, you should probably just start them all just to be sure. I think that maybe some Riddler stuff is unavailable post-story, not sure tho, I may just fail at getting it.
Solomon Wayne Courthouse after P10

Whatever trophy it is, you can get to it. I promise.
