I'll be leaving for the Air Force soon, in about two months, and I'm wondering if anybody knows any decent workouts from home that might help me be better prepared before boot? Besides the obvious running, pushups and sit ups/crunches?

I like Zuzana Light's workouts (ZWOW's), you can find them on Youtube. They are full-body workouts, and you can do most of them with your own body weight, but sometimes you'll need basic equipment (e.g. free weights) and they are really intense, so guys can do them too, I don't know why some people assume they are designed for girls. I've also noticed that Mike Chang's workouts are really popular (again Youtube) and he has a huge following among guys. The basic concept is pretty much the same as Zuzana's: high intensity interval training, and a lot of exercises are very similar. Hope it helps.

My guess is because the exercises look easy and it's a girl running the show...

I'm not looking to get into basic (physical issues barred me from the military D:) but I have been looking for something like this. Let me assure anyone wondering...holy shit she kicked my ass. I tried the first video, a 15 minute exercise thing; five minutes in, I had to take a break. Nine minutes in, I had to throw in the towel and I'll try again later...

Depends on what you're trying to do. Are you looking to build strength and endurance before your training, or are you trying to lose weight?

Different workouts for different results.

Hey man, the things you should focus on are carrying weight over distance, like hiking with a pack, press ups and your torture holds like planking and wall sits. Running isn't really anything to worry about as from day one you'll be running everywhere so you'll get used to it quickly but press ups and ab workouts are thing things you will be monstered with so focus on getting proficient in those.Other that that i'd say dont focus on long exercises like long distance, light weight running, instead sort out a program of circuit training 'pump and dump' stuff, high intensity over short periods, its what will prepare you best for basic training.(Assuming NZ Army basic training is similar to USAF)

On a side note, well done for signing up
