Need help, PS3 has stopped reading discs.

Recently my ps3 stopped reading discs and i was wondering if anyone at the escapist has encountered this problem and could give me advice on how to best fix the problem.
I put the disc in and the ps3 just doesnt pick it up.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Is it game discs or any discs?
Try cleaning the lens with a blu-ray lens cleaner.
Are you still getting the XMB ETC.?

My friend had this and sony replaced it.
