so my computer had been working fine until today, when it would start up but it didn't show anything on the monitor, and it didn't say the keyboard or mouse were plugged in. So I opened it up and to my surprise there were about four plugs unplugged. I think this may be causing my computer trouble but I don't know where the cords get plugged back in.

The plugs that are unplugged are as follows:

1 has a white head, 4 cables are connected to the head the colors are 1 yellow, 2 black, 1 red, there are 4 holes in a line on the other end of the head.

This one is connected to a bigger one that has the same cables as from above wired into it, plus 1 more yellow, 2 more black, and 1 more red. It has 4 big holes in a line on the head.

The third one has a clearish white head, wired into it are 2 yellow and 2 black wires, and there are 4 holes on the other end in a square shape.

The last one is a long white head, it has 2 black wires wired into the same head, as in not connected to anything else, 1 orange wire like the 2 black ones, 1 other black one, and a red one, on the other side of the head there are two rows with 6 tiny holes in each row.

Please help me get my computer working.

Note: I'm typing this on the family computer, it's my personal comp that needs your help.

Edit: I can provide pictures if you need them.

Those are various molex connectors. They don't necessarily have to be connected to anything, they're mainly used to power peripherials (which you may or may not have).

I don't see a video board in there . . . you got onboard video, or is it just out of frame?

That's IDE cabling (the flat grey cables) going to your HD's. This sucker's fairly old, isn't it? At least, say, 10 years?

Yeah, those are basically extras.

Also, opening up the case without knowing what you are doing is probably a terrible, terrible idea.

Aight thanks everyone.

Yea my computer is incredibly old from like '99 or '00 if I recall correctly. And you all are right because I started it up and it started working like normal, so I just think it's finnicky and I'm just happy it's working for such an old computer.

Thanks again
