Ok, so some backstory.
I have my modem, it has one connection. I have only two devices I use internet with, an Xbox 360, and my desktop computer. Because my modem only has one connection port, I have to switch out the cable back and forth. But, for whatever reason, the modem needs to be reset (unplugging the power cord and waiting approximately 30 seconds). It's just a real hassle. Would an ethernet splitter fix this, or would a router be better? I honestly don't know. And no, I don't really want to fool with wireless. Bad experiences in the past, and would rather avoid wireless.
thanks for the help.
