The subject says it all really, I need a new game to play on PC.

Recently I've enjoyed Fable, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dragon Age etc. so basically I'm looking for something action/RPG based, but it doesn't necessarily have to fall into that category.

How about the Total War series? You can easily put a 1000+ hours into that series.

That is if you like RTS/strategy games, if not then try the STALKER series, it's similar to Fallout 3, except it's lighter on RPG elements, but it's a better shooter.

Mass Effect series. PC is better then consoles, and it is a brilliant game. Or the Total Wars if you like RTS, they're the best & most realistic ones out there.

Welcome to the Escapist.

Strategy isn't really my thing, I used to play a bit of Age of Empires years ago but I've played Total War and didn't particularly like it.

I have Shadow of Chernobyl actually, do you know if the sequel is any good?

I've got Mass Effect and I didn't particularly like it, it was too short and the side quest offered next to no variety, I'm debating on whether to get Mass Effect 2 or not, the people I know who have it are saying good things.

Also recommending STALKER and Mass Effect.

Also, I'd like to throw out Sins Of A Solar Empire as an RTS, and Spellforce 2 as a RTS/RPG hybrid.

survival crisis z is rpg-esque

if you use XP or, with a fix, vista, your in for the most well made game ever created

"survival crisis z" seems like an inaccurate name though, more like "the mindfuck adventures of you", in reference to the crazy shit that happens as you progress...

my name is "3" and im a badass, and my best friend is roger(and his almost-exact-copy,latino roger), an eccentric, infinite flamethrower-wielding devil with a twisted sense of humor.

and this is in the least mindfuck of the chapters.

best game ever. and free.

Yeah, Clear Sky is great, although very buggy, but I think it's all patched now, however the new Call of Pripyat is amazing, no bugs, living world, great atmosphere, basically everything you'd want from a STALKER game.

Okay, I'm gonna look into Call of Pripyat then 'cause I enjoyed the first game.

Anyone got anything else?

I recently tried neverwinter nights 2, but I got kind of bored with it and had troubles spawning in items for my characters (with cheats cause I was bored)

Luckily I always have the Dawn of War series to recomend.

Ever heard about Mount and Blade? Great indie game, one of the best RPGs I've played.

Yeah I actually played a very early version of that, back when it was still free, it was interesting but I don't remember an awful lot about it, it's on Steam now I think so I might look into it.

If you end up enjoying STALKER, you might want to give Metro 2033 a try.
Another game more along the lines of Action/RPG would be The Witcher. It's almost 3 years old, but it's a pretty darn good game. The sequel is already in the works.

The Witcher looks interesting as well, again I'll think about trying that.

I looked into it, decided I wasn't interested, and moved on. Did you want an apology for my not having the same tastes as you? XD

Have you tried the Dawn of War games? Soul Storm in particular was my favorite. Otherwise I would recommend Titan Quest, I really liked it.

Yeah I have the first Dawn of War as well and while it's decent I couldn't play a lot of it.
