I'm going to be honest, I love nerd guys. I find they're intelligent, helpful and generally more romantic than most people give them credit for. If you have a girlfriend, what's the most romantic thing you're done for her? If you don't, what would be the most romantic thing you would do when find her?

Well I met my girlfriend on a chat room for Avatar: The Last Airbender (yes, one of the nerdier love stories ever), and she lives 4 hours away from me. Long-distance relationships are hard, but we've been going strong for about a year and a half now.

There was one time that I realized that I had kind of been neglecting her. I felt horrible about it and dedicated myself to paying more attention to her. The first step in that plan? Plot with her mother (her family likes me, so I can do stuff like that) to have two dozen roses bought and scattered around my girlfriend's room while she was at work. I also mailed a handwritten apology/love letter to her mother, who put it on her desk for her to read when she got back. Since then I've had her mom put one of her favorite candies in her room every time she's at work.

A bit on the nerdier side, for Valentine's Day last year I was learning to code visual novels (very basic video games), and I created kind of an interactive love letter for her, with some questions for her to answer and everything. She loved that.

Go nerds! :D

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to The Escapist! You'll find this community to be one of the more intelligent online communities, if also... well you'll see. It's a great place. Enjoy!

I don't have a girlfriend, but I remember something I did for a girl back in my first year of college. It was nearing Valentine's Day, and I felt like putting my newly-aquired GIF-making skills to use. So I made a virtual valentine, that had the Autobots symbol spinning around into a heart like in the old Transformers show. I even managed to get that lovely old sound. So I sent it to her, and she loved it. Shame things didn't work out between us, but that's neither here nor there.

We exchange massages almost daily. I massage her head, face, neck, back, arms, legs and feet. She massages my penis. I feel its a fair exchange.

Anyway nerd boyfriends are usually just more desperate. It is amusing at first but kind of sad how quickly they become whipped.
Thank you for ruining a thread with good potential. Reported.

Well I don't have a girlfriend, I do have special feelings for someone but we kinda had to put a next step on hold for now. Right now I'm already prepared to give up my whole life for her and leave everything I have behind, but I'm not sure if you can call that romantic.

Umm...gee I've always seen myself as the romantic type, but it's hard to make something up on the spot you know.

I guess I could collaborate with friends/family on Valentine's Day or a special anniversary to create a treasure hunt. I would prepare clues, hints an directions, hand them out to people I trust (and if they screw it up for me, I'll hunt them down until the end of times and consume their souls) on certain spots, each person holding a rose to give to her when she gets there. She would end up on a nearby hill (or park or something, a pretty, secluded spot), where I prepared a pick-nick, and we'll just eat together while we watch the sunset, and later just lay hand in hand watching the stars.

That'd be pretty romantic I guess, how does that sound OP? Relies on a lot of people though, maybe I could work out a version that doesn't require a crapload of other people, although the roses are a nice touch, I think.

I'm not really into romance to be honest. Sure, my boyfriends done a lot for me, but I don't see the point in all that flowers, poems and chocolates business.

Also, the nerdy guys that have liked me have all just been stalkery and creepy.

@zen5887 dawww.. how sweet!

The most romantic thing he's done for me is asked me to play Dragon Age while he watches. JUST KIDDING! Well my favorite date of ours was when he picked me up and we went through this rich neighborhood and stole a bunch of plants for our garden. It was totally stupid and we had to vacuum all the dirt out the car after, but the thought of getting caught was exciting and funny.

I also like that he humors my weirder interests, like UFOs and ghosts and Animal Crossing.

Erm, well I recently took this girl I'm seeing to London for the day, we did a bit of mooching around the shops, went to the IMAX, had dinner at TGI Fridays and then went to see The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. And considering that she lives an hour and a half away from my house and I picked her up, made it a lot of effort on my part. Totally worth it though.

Incoming!!
Heh. Heheheh. heh.

Intentionally dirty?

OT: I... have nothing to really contribute. Sorry. While I do have a girlfriend, I am nerdy, and I do do romantic things for her occasionally, I don't think it's anything really interesting.

i can't say i'm a great fan of nerd boyfriends, my ex's last was a real nerd and he broke down in tears repeatedly every time she walked past him. he's spent the last 8 months threatening suicide and texting her say "your all i had to live for" etc etc etc. its sad, pathetic and totally fucking pointless. all its done is driven her to block his number.
