New Addams Family Animated Movie

The Addams family are coming back to the screen in animated form. Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac are among the voice cast.

I liked the animated show when I was little, so I'll try and see this.

You know what still holds up? The old show. Like, from the 60s. Seriously. Look it up. It's still funny and creative and even a little bit provocative. You know what else still holds up? The movies from the 90s. Very, very well, as a matter of fact.

I feel like these characters and this premise just doesn't get old. A bit like the Muppet Show or the Loony Toons, as long as you get someone halfway decent to write for them you're gonna get some pure gold out of it. On that note, let's hope for the best with this movie. The cast sounds pretty good.

I'd rather get a second Coraline movie, but this might be good. The thing with the Addams family is the real start of the show/movie is the house. The characters only exist as jumping off points to show off the house's various morbid, Gothic things. Its basically House of Haunted Hill Comedy Hour and the humans are no more important to the point than any of the people in House on Haunted hill are.

Wednesday exists only to have a slightly creepy pale girl for jump scares, and someone who raises spiders for the inevitable spider joke.
Gomez exists to be the slush fund to explain how the house gets paid for, and it occasionally do something whimsical like dance around.

Should be fun if they don't try to modernize them, no Twitter or selfies, don't make it Hotel Transylvania and certainly don't pull away from the real subject, the house.
