New advertisements

Am I the only one who thinks that they're MUCH more obnoxious than the previous ones? You sit down to watch a video, and the advert physically moves the video so that you're no longer looking at it. Very disruptive.

Even worse, today, I was watching The Last Airbender review by MovieBob, and the APB advert literally popped up over the video, while I was sitting still and not moving the mouse at all. When I finished, it popped up again. I was talking to my brother over Steam chat ON THE OTHER SCREEN, for God's sake. There's "rollover", and there's, "Pop up, even when the mouse isn't moving or nothing is even happening in this application, over the content that you're currently trying to view.".

I mean, I know that the Escapist is a commercial site and advertising is the main or only source of revenue. But this is getting to the point where I'd rather just not visit.

Why is there no meta-forum, anyway?

Your'e never the only one... Can we please kill the usage of the 'Am I the only one' phrase?

I've never had that issue, though moving the video to put an advert all around it is slightly annoying. What you do is simply pause the video, click the little X, then move on. It's not exactly all that hard.

Aby_z: Click the X on the video-moving ads, and the video stops playing. Start the video again, and it moves again. Click the X on the pop-over ads, and it's already too late.
