This is old news (~5 days) at this point, but I was wondering what the (scattered, divided, leaderless) DC fans thought of the new "tactical Batsuit [http://static.srcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/justice-league-movie-batman-tactical-suit.jpeg]" that Zack Snyder posted on his Twitter.
I...don't like it that much. Apart from the goggles, which look weird and out of place, it's got a lot more hard armour pieces, like they slapped some textures on the suit from the Nolan films. One of the things I really liked about Batfleck was that the suit was textured fabric. Don't get me wrong; armoured Batman is cool. But it's like, we've done that, we've seen it, let's see something else.
Plus, the BvS suit really showed off Affleck's guns. Putting armour plates on it - even if it's sensible - just covers up those magnificant 42lb howitzers that he wants us all to believe are biceps. Maybe that's the problem? He had trouble maintaining the bulk in between films?
People on social media have already made a big deal about how the goggles + cowl combo looks a lot like Nite Owl [http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/watchmen/images/2/29/020209-portraits02-big.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090302153937], which is a weird bit of recursive self-plagiarism seeing as Nite Owl is a Batman pastiche to start with. Then some assholes go blah blah Nazi Batman [http://media.comicbook.com/2016/09/nazi-batman-leatherwing-199953.jpg] blah, but my real problem with the goggles is that...well, Batman has never worn goggles. It's not his style. In fact, the go-to theme for making a Batman pastiche is to slap [http://www.writeups.org/wp-content/uploads/Nighthawk-Supreme-Power-Marvel-Comics-Richmond.jpg] some [http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/6/66303/2050466-photo_oct_19__5_28_45_pm.png] goggles [http://static3.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_small/11114/111147698/4978122-screen+shot+2015-12-31+at+12.20.47+pm.png] on that sucker. Anyway. Hopefully he won't be wearing it for the entire film. Or maybe I'm wrong and it looks great, and I'm just being a grumpy comic book guy.
