New FF Versus 13 Trailer

A new trailer for FF Versus 13 was shown at Squares show and damn do it look great. Got to hear Noctis' voice for the first time, a big ***** of gameplay and eye bleedingly beautiful CGI. Looks like it's battle system is very akin to Kingdom Hearts which is sure to please a lot of folks.

That looks pretty cool. The gameplay reminds alot of Kingdom Hearts II, which isn't a bad thing.

this is definitely got me interested, that freaking cgi was amazing and the gameplay looks much much better (as in more fun imo) and the small tidbits of environment/story look interesting.

Judging by what I actually could see, seeing as the resolution was rather unremarkable, t's certainly interesting. It seems variety in combat won't be an issue, but seeing if that much can be done well is the big question.

Also, minor gripe. In the cartoonier titles, I have no problem with anime hair. Whenever you're trying to make realistic looking humans and give them that kind of hair, it's kind of silly. The hair won't keep me from playing this, but it's just a little weird.

No there have been previous trailers, but this is the first one to have any significant gameplay footage in it, and voice acting.

Well, I like what I saw there. Especially when it took me a moment to realize I was watching gameplay. The combat system looks good, yay Kingdom Hearts. I'm glad this game didn't just fall off the map, with them announcing XIII-2 and renaming Agito to Type-0.

Okay so give me this and Third Birthday and I'm gonna have a good gaming year, whatever year that happens to be.

Looks awesome but I'm quite confused why it even has a 13 attached to it. They look nothing alike and don't appear to have any connection whatsoever. Should have just called it Final Fantasy Versus or something. I don't see the point of attaching 13 at the end. Also....I know it's PS3 exclusive but it wouldn't surprise me to see a 360 announcement shortly after release.

It has the 13 attached to it because it's part of the Fabula Nova Crystalis series. THe games within this series (FF13, V13, Agito) all share a similar mythology and themes.

And no, it will not show up on the 360 at all, don't even hold your breath. They stated it's PS3 exclusive and Nomura and his team threatened to leave if Wada dared to try and port it to the 360.

IF it gets ported to the 360, which I am certain it WONT, it will be AFTER they are finished with the PS3 version. A lot of the problems pertaining to FF123 were partialy due to the port over to the 360.

Nomura is also a bit of a playstation fanboy, his team does not like what Wada and the team working on FF13 did. I wont be surprised if he fights tooth and nail to keep is PS3 exclusive.

Quite frankly, it should stay exclusive, the PS3 deserves that much.

Yeah on the rare occasion that this does come out on 360 I will definitely buy it.

I love Final Fantasy...and I hate exclusive games...

That CG at the start really is some of the best I've ever seen. Damn thing gave me goosebumps.

And can I get a "Hells yeah!" from any random Escapist for the KHII style combat?

Looks like it will be awesome, I am starting to prefer acion/real time combat in JPRGS over turn based
