Didn't see anything on the latest news for this and I don't remember seeing it pop up on the forums here (I apologise if it has).

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-07-10-mass-effect-3-leviathan-dlc-confirmed-by-voice-actor

DLC for Mass Effect 3, called Leviathan has been confirmed by one of the voice actors working on it, Anthony Skordi. Rather interestingly, he is voicing a Reaper called Leviathan - hence the name of the DLC - that has turned traitor on it's own kind.

Bioware look set to announce more details at their panel at the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday along with free Earth multiplayer DLC that was already leaked.

So in other words, you can control a Reaper in this DLC?
Also the name Leviathan I can't help it but it is remind me the Tyrants from Warhammer universe when I heared.

If even one Reaper is capable of rebelling against its controller, doesn't this render the whole Control ending potentially moot? I mean, if even just one Reaper can just ignore your commands, it could cause a heck of a lot of damage.

Yet one more reason to give organics their chance and pick "destroy."

The Control ending looked like a "TOTAL OVERRIDE" wave.

The Reapers as they are now are still individualistic, they listen to the God Child but he doesn't control their every move.

The control ending could just hijack their minds and make them slaves.

You know, I jokingly mused that ME3 would have something to do with a Reaper that rebelled and joined you.

I made the joke because such an idea would be rather silly.

And Leviathan... are they referring to the Leviathan of Dis? Because that Reaper was taken by the Batarians, who got indoctrinated by it, which pretty much screwed the Batarians when the Reapers came. Which doesn't exactly strike me as "helping against the Reapers".

Unless it's some other Reaper. I guess we'll find out.

As I recall, it is supposed to be that Reaper, and when the DLC starts its indoctrinating people and making them do something, and you have to convince it to stop.

The only thing that this confirms is that the ME3 endings are still confusing as fuck, and have more holes than Swiss cheese. I have a nagging feeling that the more DLC they will add, the more convoluted it will get.

I dont see how it is confusing, it seemed to be an apparent "I AM TAKING COMPLETE CONTROL" type ending.

Yeah, but if one Reaper is out there with free will, that means that there is no complete control. And if one Reaper can do it, why not others? This new DLC has a lot of explaining to do.

Yes it is.

When the Extended Cut was released some sod went poking around in the files and found a few transcripts of the DLC script along with the new Multiplayer character abilities.

Leviathan huh? Isn't that admiral Karath's ship in KotOR 1.
Leviathan is a sea monster referred to in the Bible, but most of the time if fiction it refers to any monster that is just big. Lazarus is the miracle that restored Jesus to life witch is why in a lot of fiction when you are trying to bring someone back for the dead that name is put on IE Lazarus pit(Batman) and Lazarus project(Mass Effect). Point being that it's most likely a biblical reference. Or just a common name with some neat history behind it.

-The DLC takes place before the ending.
-Before the ending The Reapers were never totally under the SC's control, they just listened to what he said.
-At the ending Shepard does a "I AM ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL" thing, no more Reaper individual will.

how is this confusing?

Why would I play a game that I already finished? And didn't the starchild say that he was some kind of VI that created the Reapers? That would mean that the Reapers probably do more than just listen to him, they probably listen to his every command.

So by exerting this DIRECT CONTROL, Sheppard basically wipes out the free will of this Leviathan Reaper as well. Nice. It's basically like getting the Geth to fight at your side and then wiping them out with the destruction option.

The Reapers do listen to his every command, but he doesn't directly control them. If the SC controlled them entirely it would be like the Rachnai, or the Collectors, there would only be ONE personality.

The Reapers have individualistic thoughts and different personalities, so they always had free will. Most of them probably didn't disobey because they believed in the holiness of the mission.

And yeah it would be like the Geth and Destruction option.

Also even IF Shepard doesn't control all The Reapers in a hive mind like way, the few rouge ones could easily be destroyed by the non rouge ones. They have been following orders for over 1 billion years with only 1 apparent dissenter, whatever The Reapers believe in they believe fanatically.

Thank you for the Lazarus thing. It was driving me crazy that I didn't know what Lazarus was or why it was always referencing bringing people back to life.

Yeah, you would be surprised how often people copy the Bible. If it's just a name or otherwise.
