I am building a new pc and was unsure on what motherboard to get. I was springing to continue with the Asus brand, but when I saw that their latest line had split reviews at best I was hoping for some better alternative recommendations from the community. As far as price goes I am uneasy spending more than 200 dollars and anything over 300 is out of the question. I am planning this build with Battlefield 3 in mind.

Parts I Have:

-Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

-EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5

-G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

I am also using a PSU and HD from my older build:

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

(If anyone thinks there will be a problem with that PSU and HD in this build please let me know!)

As of right now I am leaning towards the ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3)

Any critiques?

I don't know ASRock, but I always like to recommend ASUS motherboards. Great ones they are.

PS: Are you sure that power supply will be sufficient?

Put in your parts and be double sure, because you don't want something like a power supply limiting your preformance.

ASUS use to be good to me in the past but I took a gamble against the mixed reviews for the latest ASUS P67 mobos and lost. I already had to RMA one and since I am getting a refund I would rather try a different brand for the latest chipsets.

PS- You are right about the PSU, I might purchase a new one when I decide on the mobo. Right now I meet the minimum requirements, and I'd rather have much more power to spare for future proofing and OC'ing.

That psu should be enough, but it doesnt leave you with a lot of room for OC.
ASrock is owned by ASUS and they make good cheap mobos(nothing wrong with them but they often are a bit budget) but if you want quality I would probably go for ASUS or Gigabyte

Do you want room for sli with your mobo or are you 100% sure you will only use 1 card?

SLI isn't on the top of my agenda right now, but I'd like to leave the option open should I change my mind in the future if its possible. I am also open to getting a board with PCI-E 3.0 slots aswell. Any recommendations?

For to use PCI-E 3 you need a cpu that supports it, and atm it doesnt exist one. Ivy bridge will be the first cpu with support for it. So I would go with PCI-E 2 mobo. Do you got any prefered brand?

Well im going to bed so I will respond tomorrow

I am open to any personal suggestions based on use or longevity. My last motherboard lasted me almost 5 years before I decided it was time to upgrade and it was an EVGA mobo. See my first post for what I am currently looking at.

P67 mobos:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157231&Tpk=ASRock%20P67%20Extreme%206

Im personally using this mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131702&Tpk=Asus%20SABERTOOTH%20P67

And it works great for me, and you get 5 yr warranty. Only problems is that it has a cold start bug (restarts the computer once before really turning it on) but it is fixed by upgrading the uefi, and if you are using a cpu cooler that is not blowing down the air I would recommend that you buy a 50mm fan (costs around 5-10$) and plug it in, in the assistants fan "slot"

Z68 mobos:

Any of these mobos should work for you and I've only heard good things about them
