New Persona 5 Trailer and Release Date

After waiting ages watching an old lady talk alongside a giant pink dildo man while a bunch of people 'stole' Tokyo Tower, the new Persona 5 trailer has been shown, showing off new party members, gameplay features and a RELEASE DATE of September 15th for Japan (no Western release date was given).


They also showed the special edition, which seems to include an artbook, a compilation of the best Persona music tracks, a bunch of (what seems to mostly be) cosmetic DLC and a poster. They also announced a Persona 5 anime called Persona 5: The Day Breakers which will be a prequel tot he game.

They also announced after the stream that the game will be appearing at E3, so hopefully we'll get a western release date then.

I was just about to create a thread.

Anyway, they seem to be butting heads against Final Fantasy. With the anime and date.
Man, competition is funny, but I'll most likely watch the anime.
As for the date, kinda sad they didn't give out a release date for us, all I hope is that they make that a worldwide release date, or at least make one that barely lags behind Japan's... but that's like best scenario. Worst scenario is if us Aussies (and Europeans) get it another four months later (like Fire Emblem Fates. >.>).

Getting to the meat of this trailer, and boy, there is a lot of it.
- I'm liking the improvement to dungeons, both action and appearance-wise.
- Seems like people will die via heart attacks.
- Hacker girl is already better than Rise.

- Still lovin' that UI.

Overall, I am certainly hyped, and I hope when this game comes out, everyone will be able to play it ASAP. So far it looks like it deserves the current hype... but hey, lets not overshoot it. We still have E3 to look at, and I'll be they might have a demo/gameplay video there (hopefully).

I look forward to seeing the supernatural/mystery side of the story. Like what's the deal with Morgana ( and if they're a girl or guy), and more importantly, the names of the new crew members.

This game can't come out soon enough!

I'm counting down the days till I can import it from the US. Forget everything else, I'll forgo all other new games so long as I can play Persona 5.

Also, they will only announce the NA release date at E3, 'cus AtlusUSA. The best the EU is going to get is Hardin tweeting that "it's, uh, coming, sometime, yeah".

If it helps, I think you'll be able to import it from the states, since as far as I've heard it's not going to be region locked.

Some interesting notes:

It seems you will fight both Shadows and normal Demons. I though at first you fought only the Demons because you were a Shadow at first as well.

Special Cut scenes kills are very welcome.

Finally and not last...........naughty fan service. Sadly the European release will be censored, HOHO!!!

Remember, now Atlus have Sega as Major publisher. Maybe they will change policy. I'm just saying.

It's quite possible that Persona 5 won't come to Europe any time soon since Atlus cut ties with NIS America, who handled Atlus's European releases.

Good to know the jp release date, I plan to import this if dual audio isn't in the US version and september is sooner than I expected. I am avoiding any and all spoilers so I didn't watch the trailer, or any trailer besides the very first, but I'm glad it seems to be shaping up nicely.

What's unnerving? You're acting like they're little kids or something, having grown up in a country where the age of consent was 15, hearing things spoken about 15 year olds that ought to refer to prepubescent kids is what's bizzare lol. Japan is closer to the majority of the world, unlike those who think 15 year olds are equal to 5 year olds with regards to sex, which are a minority of mostly third world hyper religious countries who believe that...and some states in America.

Europe is going to get the best version ever, it'll be way better then the crummy American or Japanese versions, and ours will be half the price, and come with free DLC, and include the previous 4 games.

I can dream and until we get confirmation you can't prove me wrong, so I'm going to sit in the corner with my eyes and ears closed repeating 'Its coming to Europe' over and over again until September.
