Here it is!

The fact Spidey seems to actually be cracking jokes this time around is a good sign, and I've always like the Lizard Man as a bad guy.

This may turn out to be decent film afterall

Also, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben *girlish squeel*.

What do you guys think?

Little heavy on the kinda obvious CGI, but this looks pretty damn good. I kinda nice balance between seriousness and light-heartedness, like "The incredible hulk" which I loved.

So yeah, this looks like it might surprise me.

Well, since none of the Spidey movies have been bad yet, I'm not exactly shocked. But it does look good. i also like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. And Martin Sheen is the shit.

I don't like the look of all the characters, but the witty banter is welcome.
And there's just something about the cinematography in the non-action scenes that strikes me as odd. Sort of tv-drama ish. I don't really know.
Also: I'd really like to know if they're going with Peter making his own web shooters like in the comics or not.
I'm not sure I like Spidey's voice either, but that might just be because I'm used to Toby McGuire. In any case, I think he looks too Edward-y. Or... Edward-y might not be fair. I can't quite put a finger on it, but he doesn't rub me the right way.

And I'm not really a fan of Gwen Stacey or whatever her name is, but I don't really read the comics, so I might just be rambling.

I can't wait for this movie. It looks amazing.

I'm so excited because... Well, I never liked the other Spidey movies. The costume was fine, web-swinging was cool, fight scenes were great, actually... But everything else? UGH

Characters were total mis-steps and one dimensional flops. Mary-Jane was whiny and lame, Norman Osborn wasn't remotely intimidating, Spider-man had the worst banter ever and was never even remotely funny or endearing, and Peter Parker was worse. Toby McGuire is not Peter Parker to me, not at ALL. Peter Parker, and Spiderman, is kind, strong, an often morally occupied. Toby McGuire's Parker just didn't convey any of that to me. He never got out of Spider-Jerk mode, which was supposed to change when Uncle Ben dies. He was just angsty and serious all the time.

Judging by this trailer things might be different. The director has said that he focuses on Character-driven stories. Here's hoping that it will deal a lot with relationships, particularly Peter's with Curt, as well as with Uncle Ben, Gwen and her father.

Plus, the Lizard is one of my favourite villains. I'm not sure how it will work since he's only a villain when he's transformed and he's not particularly eloquent then, but hopefully they pull something off, maybe giving someone like the Kingpin a smaller role to build up for the sequel. But regardless, the Lizard is the type of villain just entangled deeply with the emotions of Spider-man and will help hammer home the responsibility theme.

On top of all of that, I just like how this movie looks. The city-scape, the costume (which is sort of dodgy looking but I'll get to why I like it), the Lizard (Hopefully only preliminary CGI that'll be improve) and everything else just makes it look... Colourful, and fun. The costume is bright, the moves are cool... Spiderman should be emotional and dramatic, but also fun.

Got a lot of hope for this film. Plus, Andrew Garfield totally looks the part :D

Well it's about time!

As for the trailer, it's certainly called Amazing for a reason and horay for the scientific reason behind the spider web instead of that cop out "organic" spider web.

So Gwen father (I forgot his name) is the new J. Jonah Jameson as in viewing Spiderman as a vigilante except he actually does something about it than to twist Spiderman action as a villainy deeds in the press.

The only thing I dislike is just his eye/ visor thing and the black web patterns look small.

In regards to to suit, it makes sense that it would look kind of crappy.

Peter is a scientist, not a tailor.

"If you want the truth, Peter. Come and get it."

Maybe I'm just being dense, but who is saying that? At first I thought it was The Lizard, but it sounds more British than when he speaks earlier in the trailer.

It would make sense for them to shift the overall look since this is a reboot, but agree; The characters look somewhat One Tree Hill-ish.

Sam Raimi had a sharp and frantic style of directing which fit Spider-Man perfectly, so Marc Webb (the current director) has a lot to live up to.

Peter has webslingers in this movie, you can see him testing one in the trailer.

Still sucks that we can't see Dylan Baker as The Lizard. Just as Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina he's a great charismatic actor who would've been perfect as a super villain.

Ah, thanks.
Thinking back, I remember seeing the shot you're talking about, but for some reason the information contained within just passed right through my brain.

A bit much....
Lovin the Lizard, not so much Andrew Garfield as I cant really buy him as a nerd.
and dont really like the over sexualization that seems now mandatory since twilight......
but spiderman is all that matters
better than raimi/macquires though.

Hopefully this series will have more focus on villains than love story/drama(besides all the blah we know parker must go through)
which actually made the second one kinda good(with doc oc)

I'm sure a lot of comicbook fans are filled with glee over the inclusion of the webslingers, but I never much cared for them and I thought it was a good decision that the previous movies just ignored the damn things.

You can be sure that there'll be "that moment" in the movie where Peter finds himself on the losing end because he's run out of webcartridges. The 90's cartoon show had one of these scenes at least once every episode, and I always thought it was a cheap way to create tension.

I agree that the webslingers have potential for abuse, yes, but I find the concept a lot more gratifying and interesting than the organic stuff.
However implausible, I like the thought of Peter having created the web himself. I guess it's because it made him seem more skilled and admirable to me.
One can always hope that they will stay classy enough not to exploit the "out of web" twist though.

Then again, even with the organic web, the last set of movies couldn't stay away from Peter's ejaculatory failure.

One way that would probably seem lame to normal viewers but I think would be an awesome inside baseball moment is if they had a "out of web" moment, but then he immediately pulls out another cartridge and pops it in, immediately resuming the action.

True.
That would work.
