So, new one dropped a bit ago:

Still looks good, though I dislike the "condensed synopsis of the entire film" version of this one, that hits all of the major plot points. Still, not bad.

Thoughts?

Movie trailers reveal too much of the plots once again.

The question I want to know now is what Tony is doing that is more important than taking down a simple thug with a flying powered suit if he doesn't want Peter to take him on? It would be so much simplier if he apprehend him before Peter does something stupid for taking him on himself!

I don't see how the trailer revealed the plot. So Spider-man lost his suit... Okay. We still don't know anything about the Vulture or what he's trying to do. All it shows is that Peter wants to be an Avenger and Tony doesn't want him to, which you can be sure is going to be the synopsis they put up in cinemas.

Anyway, I think it looks good. For once we have a good Spider-man vs Super powered baddie fight. Spider-man 2's fight against Ock was a long time ago.

Oh look, I have an annoying clone *points to the almost identical username/avatar but with an asshole attitude*. I feel special now, never had someone decide to try and shitbag me by pretending to be me, and then act entirely different than me.

Even sending me PMs in a shitbag tone. Classy!

This probably goes without saying, but anything by happyninja69 is not me, so please ignore what they have to say.

Okay so:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/28/entertainment/spider-man-trailer/index.html

This article says they reveal a major character's death. Whose? I've watched it three times, no one dies. Vulture just says he's going to kill Peter's family over a scene of Peter crying, in his suit, on the beach. They're not even related events! The audio is clearly from another scene.

So who died? And what spoilers other than he looses his suit for the last act, only to get it back in the post credit scene as Tony finally admits he did good, and he looks better in the suit than in his pajamas.

Better than your mom.
Sick burn. And yeah, I really don't like how they felt the need to show us basically the skeleton of the entire plot. I mean really? Did we NEED to know beforehand that Iron Man gets pissed at him and takes the suit away? That would have made for good tension if we didn't know it was coming. Shit like this makes me want to kick everyone marketing "expert" in the junk. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU MARKET A MOVIE.

Day one, I'm there! I love what they've done with the Vulture, combining the classic look with a more realistic (well as realistic as is possible) tone. He looks like a real threat and not just villain of the day.

Part of the threat comes from him threatening high schoolers to be fair. I mean he's dark and twisted with a flying suit, but he'd be put down by any of the Avengers in seconds. Even Falcon would turn him into mush.
But seeings how Peter is like what, 15, and his girlfriend is basically the same age, Vulture is much more threatening.

Actually that's a really good point! I have teenage kids and the idea of a grown man threatening them is really disconcerting.

You know what might be a cool/insane plot point? Tony Stark "creating" Vulture as a threat to help train Spider-Man as the first of the next generation of Avengers. He already created Ultron in an attempt to retire, and that plot thread was never really resolved; not in Age of Ultron nor in Civil War. It'll never happen, but I think it would be a cool new dark take on Tony's character for him to create training-villains to help the new super-kids step up to take the helm and then have to face the fallout from that coming out.

Or maybe it's stupid. Hell, I'm not paid to make movies.

Actually why not make Vulture ex-military, and he was Falcon's mentor. Their suits and tactics in them look similar enough. And Vulture tried to be a hero, but the world was just too dark and corrupt for him and he never could make a difference. And Tony wants to protect Spider-man from him because he'll poison Peter against the idea of being a hero, thus ruining his potential, and because Tony is worried he's very similar to Vulture's mindset, especially after the debacle he caused in Civil War.

That idea is much more plausible, but the point of my idea was how nuts it would be. I doubt anyone would see it coming. Again, though, it would never happen.

Well now I don't even have to watch the movie. It's like when Doomsday showed up in the BvS trailer or when John Connor turned out to be a Terminator in the Terminator: Genesys trailer. From that one detail, you can figure out how most of the rest of the movie will play out.

Although I will say that this looks significantly better than either of those movies I mentioned.

-Bland - very much an MCU film in that it appears passable, leaving no strong impression either way.

-Boat scene looks like a riff from the train scene

-Something about Tom Holland as Peter bugs me. I don't know if it's his acting, or how he's being directed to act, but he comes off as...well, off. Accurate to Spidey as we know him though, but at this point in time, I still prefer McGuire and even Garfield.

-Not a fan of either of his suits. The home-made one looks shoddy, as it should, but even McGuire's original suit had some charm to it, while this looks too shoddy (somehow). On the other hand, his Tony suit looks far too clean. I know, nitpicking, but just being honest.

-Like Michael Keaton. Similar to his portrayal of Ray Kroc in 'The Founder', he knows how to play (corporate) scumbag characters well, with a sly menace that makes me feel endeared to him, even if he's either terrorizing New York or screwing the McDonalds brothers out of ownership of their own business.

-Captain America's fitness challenge. Aw, come on Steve, now you're just teasing people. ;p

I don't feel like trailer has gone overboard in giving away the plot, if anything it has shown that there is more going on this movie than I had figured from the earlier trailer, one may have issues with how it fits everything its shown in an acceptable runtime or how it will be paced but Marvel films haven't had any issues with that in the past.

I'm a bit curious with how connected this film will be with the wider MCU what with how much Iron Man they're showing off here.
I do kinda have a preference that Spiderman's first "solo" film should focus solely on him.

Vulture looks cool, I really like how after five films and two reboots they still haven't had to resort to rehashing any previous villains (apart from the Goblin kinda?) Hopefully with access to Spiderman's rogues gallery going forward Marvel will be able to overcome their issue with lackluster villains.

All in all pretty standard Marvel fare which isn't in any way a bad thing.

Should be fun.

I too am a little disappointed with how much they revealed in the trailer. I feel like they gave away too much context. Either way, I'm still going to watch this because I'm a sucker for all things Michael Keaton. Also, Marisa Tomei... Yeah. I'm pretty fond of her too.

Yeah, Marisa Tomei falls into the "Yes Please" category for me, always has. My favorite roll of hers was in Untamed Heart. Really awesome movie from the 90's. For some reason it's got a very special place in my heart, mostly for her performance.

Not to mention my lifelong love for hot older women, and she definitely hits all those buttons for me too.
