The source stated that, ?Regarding other games, I haven?t been involved with Steep or Wildlands, but I was surprised Splinter Cell didn?t appear at E3. I know Ironside is back. He was in the studio, I said Hi to him and his daughter. He was shooting a movie with Amy Jo Johnson, and I know someone who worked on that set and Ironside confirmed to him he was doing the new Splinter Cell. I know Toronto has the mocap studio for it. I?m hoping to hear or see something unofficial, if not official, this year, but its been hard to get anything beyond ?It?s Happening?.?

The user later provided an update from his source stating his sighting of Ironside occurred last Summer. He also mentions two sources (one being trusted, the other an acquaintance) for the film The Space Between which were shooting in Toronto and how Ironside mentioned being a part of the new Splinter Cell. ?The movie shoot overlapped the same week as my encounter. As I understand it, he was here for the movie first and worked in the studio visit while in town.?
Well series has not been good since chaos theory. and i dont have high hope. otherwise i hope they just reboot it and bring back chaos theory mechanic plus no more day time missions. it is what ruined the franchise.

other than not really expecting much. i bet it will be open world knowing the trend nowadays as every game going

PS2 version of Double Agent was great. Even had a better story than the Xbox 360 version. I wish Ubisoft would release that version on modern systems.

I played PC version and that was so so. start downfall of series. then conviction remove stealth and turn it into action game and after than blacklist hit the bottom where sam fisher is no longer sam fisher and become generic dude. its even worse than conviction.

They removed stealth? Pretty sure I played both games using stealth.

Its more of action game compare to chaos theory that was real SC game sneaking behind enemies in dark enviroment.

and blacklist was worse than conviction. the only Splinter cell i never completed and end up quitting. atleast in conviction i feel like im playing as sam fisher and I did beat that game. but blacklist? Sam suppose be older who looks younger, voice actor is generic and Sam feel like entire different character, worst level design i have ever seen ,in stealth game, mass effect like mission briefing. forced FPS segment and poorly done, too much action, daylight etc.

There are few franchise I get excited about, and Splinter Cell is one of them. I used to think the franchise had climaxed with Chaos Theory (closest thing to perfect on the Original Xbox,) but after suffering through Double Agent and Conviction, I was pleasantly surprised by Blacklist. Yes, I know it did a lot of things differently from traditional Splinter Cells, and leaving out the iconic Ironside was an extremely gutting change, but after getting into it, I found it to be a great game, the best SINCE Chaos Theory, IMO. It really opened up the franchise giving nearly every mission viable options to go stealth, guns blazin' or a mix of the two. Of course, I went pure stealth my first time through (and Blacklist's stealth does traditional Splinter Cell great justice,) but played several missions full-on Rambo afterwards and found it to be just as enjoyable if in a different way.

I will say this: in an era of gaming wherein developers/publishers are quick to find one thing that works (read: "sells") and repeat it ad nauseam every single year until it doesn't work anymore, I'm glad to see they haven't given up on Splinter Cell. Yes, they've tried a lot of different takes and Splinter Cell hasn't necessarily "blockbusted" in a while, but they recognize the promise it has always had, so they've enough faith to keep the franchise alive. I need a good organic, realistic military stealth game from time to time to offset all these devs who're convinced gamers aren't content unless they're frenetically racking up kill streaks whilst running along walls, jumping 12 feet in the air directly into a mech with rocket launchers for arms.

I'm hopeful. Did really like Blacklist, all it needed was Ironside. The missions had great variety and open plan maps. Plus the co-op and other (was it mercenaries?) mode was back. No chance of a remaster there though. :(
