Any that stick in your memory, also my science teacher (SCHOOLBOY LAWL) taught us on sleep and that you have 8+ dreams a night but only remembre them if your sleep is disturbed/your in the stage 1.

In fact i remember 5 distinct nightmares from my childhood that are childish but considering how slightly better-than-average immunity I have to scary stuff ( no movie hsa ever scared me)
WARNING childish

1. Godzilla for some reason :\
2. Walking toe the loungeroom to have your dad grabbed suddenly pulled into the closet which is a portal to hell by a giant spider thing, very suddenly, very fast, seemed real, as I had gone down previously and he was in the exact same position
3. would be when I was in he driveway and dracula off van hellsing ordered a giant rock golem to attack me, now normally my method of waking up is just rub my eyes in the dream and I can force them open, but this time it didnt work and it seemed real til a ms before i get ripped to 2 I wake up
4. (bwahaha) a T-rex attack on my school, no idea why, these just never leave my memory
5. Would be when I had a state where I was in a mix of sleep stages, my whole body except for my eyes was relaxed and it feels like having pressure on you sorta... hard to explain, but then i had a hallucination a wolf was on me and possibly eating my chest... eww, then I went fully awake and sat there, heart racing for 30mins til I finally racked the courage to sit down and go to sleep... with the lights on... Im such a coward

But no scary movie stuff, though I know a kid who doesn't like watching the oblivion vampires when his mate plays it (they share plays as 1 has his 360 HD at microsoft.. mine got sent back 8 times, your one of the lucky ones, the guy we always talked to was Indian, we had to pay for all postage so like $200 australian?) so he sorta blocks his eyes with a cushion etc., tragic

I only remember having this nightmare:
Walking around the house. All normal but it was kinda scary. Then I walked outside into my backyard and there was this huge 2meter-ish toad thing that was watching me. So I ran in doors and locked myself in. I had this strange feeling that it followed me. Then the lights went out in the house.
And that's all I remember about it.

I really don't tend to, and when I do it ends up almost laughable.

Had one after playing FEAR, blood on walls, corpses everywhere. But I had a large gun so didn't mind so much. Plus, it didn't really help that the littleness of the little girl has been somewhat exagerated, and she had become a lego woman a few millimeters high. It was kinda disturbing while I had it, but made me laugh when I woke up. Well, once the sun was up again. Seriously, being scared by lego leaves its mark for a while.

The last one I found geniunely scary involved Daleks actually. Was in my house, saw the 'eye' of one poking round the door, gave up on heroics and legged it, leaving anyone who may have been in the house to fend for themselves. I don't think I'd make a very good hero...

I get the pressure one occasionally. It's called sleep paralysis. Only for me, I had some evil lady holding my face and laughing.

I had this one right after my mother died.

The whole family was flying in a plane. We got attack by something, and the plane crash into the ground. A sharp piece of the plane fell of and cut off my legs. Another had hit my mother in the chest. I was struggling to go help her, and when I got close, she fainted.

That's all I remember

Had this one when I was four and it still sticks out for some reason...

I'm in my back yard, and this creepy guy (think serj tankian from the empty walls video), was trying to get my to eat a cookie. Not vary scary, until I somehow find out that it's made of some kind of poison and just touching it turns your blood into fire. Guess how I found that out in the dream?

Aside from that, the only other one I can remember is right after my first dog died. about two weeks after, I had a dream that he came back as a zombie and was coming to "get me". Ya, THAT was a fun night.

Nowadays, when I have a nightmare, I don't even know it. The morning after it happens, one of my parents (I'm 17 and live at home) will say at the breakfast table somthing like "so, what was with all the screaming last night?", and I have no clue what they're talking about.

This may not count as a nightmare, but it was really trippy, and I wanna share.

I'm in a house I don't know, and a man I vaguely recognize as someone on my mom's side of the family say that there's an evil matress in the next room. We skip the evil matress, and then I forget what happens next, but eventually I'm alone in a bleak barren wastelandish area with an old log shed and building nearby, large hills in the distance, and, myself alone confronting some man. The man's appearance was in white clothes, but dressed kind of like a rich texan from the wild west days (You know what I mean, right?). Anyways, I'm in some sort of glaze of a trance, and it was hard to describe. I felt like I was something that I'm not, like I was something bigger, better then myself, but it wasn't defined. I lurched for the man, and he brings a cane down swiftly onto my head. I crash into the mud, bringing myself back to reality, before the man brings the cane down on me again and I wake up, breathing hard.

I have alot of nightmares, and lately, most of them consist of my teeth being cemented in place, and as I try and speak or move my mouth, they crack and burst very painfully.

One time when I was a little kid, I dreamt I was running home from school , and as I headed down my street, a T-rex Started chasing after me, and just as he was about to pick me up in his mouth, I woke up.

The last "Media related" Dream i recall is when is was thirteen-ish, and dreamed of running up to the roof of a generic skyscraper, and then being shot down by one of these Fighter Thingies from Independence Day.
Don't know why i remember that, probably due to a few seconds of that paralysis thing and wondering why i did not have a nightmare from that whole alien autopsy scene, since back then i was seriously crept out by it (it was before i seen the likes of "The Thing" or "Alien").

Usually i dream pretty boring stuff...i once even dreamed of having a complete day in school, with no unusual stuff happening whatsoever (only that it was night outside, whatever that supposed to mean)

The scariest nightmares I've ever had were while I was feverish. The one that stands out wasn't even scary, and didn't make any sense. It was just a big, dark, possibly circular room, with lots of holes a few inches wide at the most covering the walls. Loads of numbers were flying out of the holes, across the room, into different ones. Like being in the code from The Matrix or a graphical representation of data transfer, but for some reason it had me screaming and traumatised when I woke up (still feverish and hallucinating).

But what was even worse was that I went into my mum and dad's room while feverish, and as I got into their bed, I had a waking hallucination that the bottom half of my body had somehow sort of... solidified, turned to stone. It felt like it had, and I was prodding my stomach and almost screaming again. My parents probably would have asked me what the fuck I was doing if they weren't falling asleep at the time. Scariest shit, and the worst part is it was all complete nonsense.

Giant boots with teeth was fun too. Just like Terry Pratchett always talked about.

Brave man for publicly stating that. Well... brave, or stupid.

And of course, no-one else has ever had those.

I've only had a few nightmares in my life, but the one that sticks out the most is when I was around 10. I had recently been bitten by a dog, and I my sleep I see this huge lab charging at me. Right before it reaches me, I wake up with a shout.

And as long as we're sharing our sad sex dreams, about a week after I stopped beating the Wookie, I had a dream where I was do my thing while WATCHING A PORNO. NO SEX, JUST WATCHING PORN. That's when I realized how sad my sex life was. (Still 6 months since I choked a Smurf!)

Its the interwebs, we're all shapeless beings in this universe, I wouldn't say something like that face to face with a person :)

Some good PR0N can always help me get over the shock XD
Really? I'm not a fan of Prawn myself. I prefer salmon.

I had a nightmare in which I was megaman and I was for some reason killing stormtroppers on the deathstar. Well after what felt like forever I was surrounded by stormtroppers and as I tried to get away I was pushed into a pit and woke with that falling feeling. It was scary but awesome at the same time. Someone should make a game about it :)

When the most recent Harry Potter novel came out I was sick and had some fucked up harry potter dreams. I would go to sleep for two minutes, have strange dream, wake, sleep again, and then strange dream again. I would say I had maybe 40 dreams that night.

Remember one where I walked towards the top of a staircase, when a monster made of casseroles came running up the stairs, looked at me for like 3 seconds, then ran to the left for no reason. It made this scary sound when it was moving, really creepy. Oh, and there was a troll under the stairs. It would eat me if I fell down. I also had this dream about driving a car, looking in the rear-view mirror, and seeing a ghost (little dead girl) in the backseat. Mind this was when I was 4, I had never seen a horror movie before.

T-rex rampaging the entire city filled with zombies except for me and my dad, which he gets brain sucked by a Half-Life Headcrab which causes a portal to open up and allow space demons to invade the city. Oh, all of this happening while I run the crap away from everyone. Until the T-Rex bites my head off, that is. Funny thing is I never got to play Half Life yet at the time.

Half of these look on-topic to me if the topic is video-game related nightmares. I can't say I've had many of those after System Shock, Turok and Hexen desensitized me to just about any horrific gaming-related imagery you'd care to name, but I do remember one odd event that ran through my skull with the regularity of pay-per-view a few years back...

I'd be at an amusement park. Sometimes my family would be somewhere around, sometimes not. I'd happen upon a metal spring-seesaw contraption and, being being even more of a tool than usual in the land of dreams, would fiddle and tweak with it until I figured out how to press it all the way down using my full body weight. Then I'd let go and be propelled high enough to see the entire park and roller coasters and understand full well that there is no way in hell I am going to survive this drop. Dream end.

If there is a moral to this, I'd say it's don't mess around with roller coasters or other amusement park rides. You're just asking to get your arms torn off like that stupid kid who fiddled with the harness on Canada's Wonderland's Drop Zone until he fell (great ride, BTW).

I occasionally remember dreams when I wake up but usually forgets what they were about a few days later. There is one, however, that I'll probably remember for a *long* time.

My neighbors had somehow started a feud with my family, and they did the most horrible things and nobody would step in to stop it. The only thing left to do was to kill them. So I went over there, and killed one or more of them(don't remember how many) in their sleep with a handgun. When I shoot them they are just a lump in the carpet, but then I look closer at one of them (after I shot her) and ... It's my cousins fiance. The rest of the dream was me sitting around the breakfast table, just sitting there, resigned, waiting for my mother who would eventually get to know about it and ask me wtf I had done.

When I woke up I had this horrible, horrible feeling of guilt. I felt like the worst person in the world and the feeling wouldn't go away even though I knew it was a dream.
