Smash Fan by the name of Chris Taylor (AKA SpookyWoobler) was allowed to play a build of Smash Ultimate before his passing [https://nintendosoup.com/the-cancer-patient-who-played-super-smash-bros-ultimate-early-has-passed-away/]

Several days ago, we shared with you how Chris Taylor, a three-time cancer survivor, was granted the wish to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate early by the nice folks at Nintendo of America.

It?s been a week since Taylor had played Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with his friends and family. Today, we have received the unfortunate news that Chris Taylor has passed away due to cancer. A few days before he passed away, Taylor shared some photos of him playing the game with his friends.
I have no need for bravado here. This has been more than a few days, but every time I'm reminded of it, I have tears welling up.

I know I'm nobody to Chris or Nintendo, but I have to take time to thank them for doing this. Even if it was a PR move. It doesn't matter the intention. A Fellow Gamer's last wish was fulfilled. Through our community taking his plight to Nintendo of America and their decision, Mr. Taylor was given happiness in his final days. Let's take time to honor that.

I understand feelings about Nintendo and corporations. I simply ask that you engage in voicing those opinions in another thread. Let's just be happy that his final wishes were met.

It's every gamer's fear that they'll die right before a cool thing comes out that they want to play.

Good on Nintendo for doing that for a fan.

Hey Capcom, I've got...the flu...? I feel like I'm dying, can I play DMC5? Please?

That's heartfelt and bittersweet. It also doesn't appear to be enabled by any wealth or connections of the family, which is an uncomfortable thing to praise when trying to maintain perspective. Happy to see another get their wishes granted in their delicate life predicaments.

Well that was nice to see. Considering how cynical (and hateful) I get for large corporations, this kind of thing is nice to see now and then. Good for you Nintendo, that was a nice gesture.
