As an avid game enthusiast for 20 years or so, I remember being an ardent supporter of all things Nintendo; if the Wii didn't change my mind, the last month has cemented my opinion that Nintendo deserves non of our money.

I bought a Wii for my parents to use exclusively for Wii sports, and have not been impressed by any of the games released for it - almost every title imo would have been improved with HD graphics and a good control.

Now with the WiiU having only 1 controller, and the debacle over project rainfall; I dont understand why anyone would give money to people who take us for granted?

Oh and as for Arkham City...I'll be playing it months earlier on my PS3 thanks Reggie.

I'm with you man, I loved everything from the NES to the GC, but since the Wii, Nintendo has been going downhill.

Huh. I CAN say this, THIS thread's been repeated a thousand times. Just saying, THERE are a million better forums for the whinging," AAAHHH! NINTENDO IS TEH EVILEST THING EVAR!" argument.

They weren't the ones who sold out to EA sports, and they're not the ones who kind of ROYALLY messed up during the hacker incident.

You want to whine about Nintendo sucking? Go do it somewhere else, please.

It uses one tablet controller. It supports several other controllers as I recall.

Gee, this thread hasn't been done a gazillion times already...

And anyway, no, Nintendo is not "cool," which is what I like about it. Grayish-brown shooters are what qualifies as "cool" nowadays, and I want no part of it.

It's his thread, you can leave if you like.

Anyway I have a wii and must say that yes. Just about every good game would have been better with a normal controller and better graphics. Tiger Woods was fun but it's hardly worth buying a console for. They tried something new which is great and to be honest the PS3 and 360 have the "normal" consoles kind of on lock down so there's no point going into competition. Hopefully they can use the features of the WiiU to their advantage and maybe just have some normal games. I hope they don't go ahead with the 1 controller thing. That's the complete opposite of what made the wii popular. Nintendo does well making fun coop/party games so why limit yourself.
Some straight up games from any of their exclusive franchises would be sweet too.

Speaking as someone who's rather enjoyed almost every game he's bought and played on the system (a couple dozen or so), I disagree. Nintendo is cool.

I've always liked nintendo, even with the wii, but as of the late 3ds whose only interesting games to me are the resident evil games and Luigi's Mansion, and the wii U that to me is a huge disappointment, my love of nintendo has kinda died out.

Not going to go into how what's "cool" is ENTIRELY subjective here, but...
So what?

Basically this. That's all that can be said on the subject.
Now, I have to go back Super Mario Galaxy (game lag! :D), thank you very much.

Seconded.

I've made it a goal to own each microsoft and sony console from each console generation. I cut Nintendo out of that goal because I had a Wii. It wasn't any fun for a hardcore gamer like me.

Ok first of all I'm going to remind everyone that HD is just a big fucking gimmick, esp. those who pounce on motion controls and claim that they are a gimmick.

And secondly, pretty much what this guy said. Considering that "cool" these days consist pretty much entirely of brownish greyathons, I'm kinda glad that they aren't "cool."
And also, pardon Nintendo for trying to movie the industry forward. Trying to making gaming a more interactive experience.

Gray and brown shooters aren't cool, complaining about gray and brown shooters are cool. Behaving as if every gamer that isn't enthused with nintendo right now is just a fan of sequels and grey and brown shooters, now that's cool! I can see your problem with nintendo. The wii turned off lots of long time fans of nintendo.

HD is just a clearer picture.....It's not really comparable to motion controls. Now motion controls are a gimmick right now, but i wouldn't say they don't have potential. OH and enough with the fucking bullshit about nintendo trying to move the medium forward. That wasn't the wii's purpose. The wii's purpose was not to make gaming more interactive. It was to make gaming more accessible to a wider audience because nintendo clearly could not afford to try to compete with microsoft and sony. Where are all these people saying how cool brown and grey shooters are? All i ever find are people complaining about brown and grey shooters o_O

Super Nintendo was the best platform in the history of gaming. The list of titles and likeliness of random games being good~great are much higher than any other platform. The dated graphics are nostalgic and teetered right on the edge of the uncanny valley without ever stepping into it.
Metroid, Mario, Final Fantasies, Zelda, Rock n Roll Racing, Contra, UN Squadron, Syndicate, E.V.O., Super Punch-Out... and that's just what's in my library.

Wii has a crappy controller that makes me feel like I am not in control. That's counter intuitive. So a casual gamer can catch up to an extremely finite skill cap due to sloppy or imprecise movements.
Gamecube had that horrible controller that looked... broken brand new.
N64 had a unique design but gave us Goldeneye... and I cannot play FPS's on consoles anymore because they're all dwarfed by Goldeneyes perfectly utilized controller.

Half the reason I purchased a PS3 over a 360 was it's classic controller. (Original 360 controller had a very bulky, painful to press marble buttons and heavy. NTY)

Yeah, I've been quite disappointed with Nintendo recently. I miss what they used to be, but I've always been a bit of a Sony fanboy anyways. Still don't have a PS3 though.

I'll just leave this here.
