Although it has just been announced that the virtual console for the switch has been delayed, what games are you actually wanting to see on it?

For me-

-Ocarina of time, majoras mask, wind waker and twilight princess HD remakes. The first two probably won't happen as it could detract from the 3ds, but I really hope that Nintendo don't just slap the N64/Gamecube versions on the switch. If you've got the HD versions they deserved to be used! (although, less lens flare on the WW remake. Thanks.)

-Final fantasy 4 and 6. Originally released on Nintendo systems so could be done, also my favourite final fantasies.

-Pokemon firered/leafgreen, Heartgold and Soulsilver. Again, the last 2 are unlikely to happen (although now that they're out of production their prices are just ludicrous on amazon etc.)

-Super mario Sunshine, Galaxy and Galaxy 2- 3 of the best marios ever.

-Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl.

-Mario Kart double dash.

-Metroid prime trilogy

That's it for now. If these did actually come on the VC I would buy it in a heartbeat. I have the wii versions of the prime trilogy, brawl and twilight princess but honestly I dislike the motion controls for TP so much I'd actually buy a new one just to play with a gamepad.

GameCube games. Specifically so I can finally experience Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

And maybe F-Zero GX. And re-experience Super Mario Sunshine (though I'd rather they remake that one).

But yeah. GameCube games is my wish.

F-Zero GX and SSB Melee for starters. I'd also like to see 1080 Avalanche and Wave Race: Blue Storm.

One completely insane("insane" as in "that's never going to freaking happen") idea I have is to put Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader out there. Not like I expect it to happen, what with Disney and EA having the rights to Star Wars games these days, but it would impress me.

Heart Gold and Soul Silver because they were made and released in that dead zone before they started all this fancy Pokemon Bank stuff, so it'd be nice to have that along with the previously mentioned Bank supported like Red, Blue, and Yellow.

All of them. No, I'm not kidding.
Seriously, barring any sort of licensing issue that is outright impossible to resolve, there is no good reason that Nintendo shouldn't just make every single game released for a given system on the virtual console. This "one or two games a week" drip-feed bullshit they've been doing is not remotely sufficient to make the virtual console a worthwhile endeavor.
I'm not going to condone piracy, but I will say that as long as unofficial emulation remains more convenient than the virtual console, then the virtual console will remain a failure.

Can I second, third, and fourth this? I'd like to not have to buy Earthbound, especially when they aren't going to have anything new to show for it.

I'd like to at least see Star Fox Assault for Virtual Console. It's one of my favorite Gamecube games and my favorite Star Fox game (I'm not sure why some people have trouble with the ground controls, I know I never did)

I'd also like to see Virtual Console provide some of the Gamecube games I never got to play, like Luigi's Mansion for example.

As many have said, that also the old games already purchased can be re-downloaded.
Then I don't really mind about the games, I didn't buy too many of them anyway, I am bad at replaying games. It would have to be games I remember next to nothing about other than that I enjoyed them like the first paperMario would be a nice one.

i mainly want to see rare games that are hard to obtain a physical copy of. the main one i want being Fire Emblem Path of Radiance for Gamecube since that game is worth like $300-$400 Australian on ebay.

I thought it was announced that the VC would not be available at launch with more details to come later. That's not the same as delayed because those details may say that the VC is not coming and will be replaced by adding online multiplayer to old games, one by one.

For me-

-Ocarina of time, majoras mask, wind waker and twilight princess HD remakes. The first two probably won't happen as it could detract from the 3ds, but I really hope that Nintendo don't just slap the N64/Gamecube versions on the switch. All 4 of those use dual screens which the Switch doesn't have.

-Pokemon firered/leafgreen, Heartgold and Soulsilver. Again, the last 2 are unlikely to happen (although now that they're out of production their prices are just ludicrous on amazon etc.)
The last two are dual screen games.

-Super mario Sunshine, Galaxy and Galaxy 2- 3 of the best marios ever.
Super Mario Sunshine depends on analog triggers which the Switch doesn't have. The Galaxy games are already released on the Wii U VC so they only need to carry them over.

-Mario Kart double dash.
Don't remember if this one relies on analog triggers.

-Metroid prime trilogy
Already released on Wii U VC so they only need to carry it over.

That's it for now. If these did actually come on the VC I would buy it in a heartbeat. I have the wii versions of the prime trilogy, brawl and twilight princess but honestly I dislike the motion controls for TP so much I'd actually buy a new one just to play with a gamepad.
More and more it's clear that the best game selection comes from owning a 3DS, Wii and a Wii U. I assure you that trying to playing Super Mario Sunshine with anything other than the controller it was designed for will be less than satisfying. Even though the Joycons look like they can serve as Wii Remotes, they look less comfortable due to their size. Even 2D games will suffer on the Switch if you don't invest in a $70 Pro Controller.

I want the VC games I paid for on the Switch even if the experience is sub optimal, I did pay for them after all. I don't want to lose them on the Wii U though as the Wii U has a D-Pad standard. I have been getting back into the Gamecube lately, playing Animal Crossing, Super Mario Sunshine, Tales of Symphonia and Harvest Moon Magical Melody and I can't describe how good that controller feels in my hands.

You have never played this 12 year old game? I have good news, this game can currently be legally played on Gamecube (the console sells used for $40) in my local shops. You can also play this game on earlier model Wii's and those shouldn't be too expensive either.

...or you can wait for Nintendo to get around to releasing it and you could be waiting for years or forever.

1. Being able to play the virtual console games that I bought across my Wii, Wii U, and 3DS, with at most a minimal fee (Akin to the Wii -> Wii U "upgrade")
2. A Mother 3 localization
3. Nintendo to build me a solid gold house

//Does not expect any of the three

So just today Nintendo launched a half-dozen Neo*Geo games onto the Switch eShop but the thing is, they're just kinda...there. They don't appear to be in any kind of Virtual Console sub-menu and I haven't downloaded any of them so I can't say if they offer similar features to say, the Wii versions of those same games (pretty sure all 6 were on the Wii VC).

As for what I want from the Switch VC, I want more than 2 games launched per week and this kinda set a precedent. Admittedly, the Japanese eShop has had these same games since day one but the VC has been so huge and could be so much larger that it seems downright wasteful to not try loading down the digital storefront AQAP, especially if we are just paying for ROMs with save-state and online MP support.

This isn't necessarily a VC exclusive thing but I also want my activity tracker app to come back. I like to know how much time I spend in my games and used it surprisingly often on the Wii U and 3DS.

I'm always embarrassed when I look at mine.

It's been *how many* months since I last used this???

For me I'm in a hilarious situation where my activity tracker, badge arcade and the streetpass Plaza have several hundred more uses than any actual game just because they're things that I check daily...then there are those games that I clearly played in a long binge.
