So as I'm sure you've heard, there's this thing whereby one can download mew onto HeartGold/SoulSilver.
If one can connect to Nintendo's wireless doodad.

Now, I've checked, rechecked and re-rechecked all my connection settings and the fact of the matter is, if these settings were incorrect, I'd not be able to make this post as my PC uses the selfsame wireless connection I'm trying to get my DSi to use but it's not having it.

And the bizarre part is, I can access the net using the web browser in the DSi itself just fine! I just can't download my precious Pokémon and it's making me sad.

What's stranger still is my old DS, now gone, could access it just fine and nothing about the connection has changes - same settings, same hardware.
Slumming around the 'net for answers basically says to ensure my WEP code is correct which, as previously stated, it most assuredly is.

Basically I thought I'd ask you lot, who might know more about this than I, if I'm missing something incredibly obvious. The DSi is set to automatically obtain an IP address and the DNS doohickey also.

Much love.

Nintendo and networks have not been very good or user friendly, your best bet is googling any errors, or just google "pokemon wFC problems"

This I have done. It mentioned something about data rates which my router has no settings for and really shouldn't make any difference since I've been able to access it previously on different hardware, and can access the Internet itself through this selfsame DSi.

Lord no, UK.

not helping me connect! :(
(That sounded a tad abrasive, but my time, it runs out! Fleeing like an errant lamb from the flock! Just like this metaphor.)

I only have a DSLite and my problems have been quite a few with Nintendos less than stellar approach to connectivity. Just play with the settings and see what you can get working, maybe post on Nintendos official website.

Hell it took me 20 minutes to download Super Metroid, while I got 60GB worth of games on steam in 2+ hours. That just tells you how things work.

First: off are you sure its a DSi and not just a DS Lite? because DS Lites as well as the original DS CANNOT connect to a router with a WPA encryption.

Second: if you are really using a WEP encryption make sure you are entering the right code that it has made for that word because if it is a WEP protection it makes 4 different keys of different letters and numbers based on the password you have typed in.

Third: Find your IP address and enter it into your web browser bar. Enter the username and password for your router (that you made at the time of setting it up) and go to the security area and check to make sure that your code is correct.

The settings are exactly the same on my DSi, my PC's wireless connection, my 360, my mobile phone. One of these things is not like the others.

Articuno: I have at one time or another owned one of every DS; I know which is which.
Zapdos: It is.
Moltres: Already done, first thing I tried.

The settings are not the problem unless some bizarre alignment of the planets is preventing one device being unable to utilise the same settings that at least FIVE others are working fine with.

Basically is there something special I need to do to register with Nintendo's WFC maybe? Some sort of prerequisite?

How old is the router because they used to cap off at around 5 devices being able to be connected to them at a time.

As I said, Nintendo isn't known for great network connectivity, as I said try to just mess around with the settings. OR again, post on Nintendos forums and see if you can't get a moderator to help you. I've had no luck with their stuff myself, I wish it was more userfriendly or at least gave less issues.

Oh, they're not all connected at a time, and it's a fairly new and good one. And again the fact is the DSi can connect to the net so it's not a problem with the connection.

You check the Nintendo WFC site to see if your router is even supported?
