So, I've noticed a trend with all of my favorite characters, and I mean my favorite, favorite characters, from anime, TV shows, movies, etc.

They end up dying.

Like this character from Firefly/Serenity:

I would name more, but I think you get the idea.

So, what is a trend you notice with your favorite characters?
Also, how do you feel when your favorite characters die?

My favorite characters are always voiced by Nolan North.

I kinda wish he did the voice of Alan Wake.

i generally route for the underdog, so i end up with mixed results
i sort of had the opposite feeling in BF:BC, where NO-ONE died and i hated them all
MOH:A was a bit sad

when you see a bunch of elites with the two engineers, all apparently dead, and the younger one is crawling towards the detonator but dies just before he can reach it

Or how they made Frederic turn on you for the FINAL BATTLE! He was my favorite character and I used him the whole game, dick move on an otherwise great game

A trend I notice is I like the level headed protagonists, or the classy ones.

Mine usually end up being the villians or the classy, sarcastic ones (like Balthier in FF12.. one of the only 3 decent characters).

My favorite characters don't tend to die, as they are usually the main ones of the series.

Although Nathan Hale from Resistance, he's "Dead". I didn't feel for him, but I was disappointed that the game was over.
