Disappointing news. Not really surprising though, I imagine they didn't want to write entire scripts for characters that may not be alive in some people's playthroughs.

Shame, since I still have Wrex with me. Ashley on the other hand, I dropped pretty quickly. Sure, I didn't find myself using her or Kaidan, but I liked Alenko more anyway.

Oh well, it would have been nice for one or two chracters to still be there but Bioware noramly has great chracters in their games so I'll get over it.

I really don't like the idea, why change what had already been set out. I don't want a new squad nor do I want to see Wrex and the rest take the back stage. I hope at the very least they remain as crucial side characters like what Joker was in the first one... and that they don't get pushed off screen... and that the Shepard/Ashley romance goes on unchanged.... and that Wrex stays where he is. Because I grew attached to the cast I got given, I don't want a NEW one just like that.
I saved Wrex because I wanted to keep Wrex, I made Ash my love interest for the same reason. I don't want anything CHANGED. I liked them, my whole team actually. They'd better still have major roles, be it friend, ally or lover (I liked Ashley because she had personality, bad parts and good parts mixed together, I don't want some new one) whatever because otherwise everything I did, I did for nothing.
At least they aren't going off screen completley... if that happens Bioware would have to be ready to RUN

Good news about the bloodbath ending though, if Wrex, Ashley, Tali, Liara and Garrus CAN'T be recruited then they can't be part of final bloodbath so all the new characters can all die and when the dust settles I'm left with the people I had in the first place.

Although i would've looked forward to having the major characters from ME1 in my group for ME2, especially Garrus and Kaiden who i took on practically every mission. But to be fair it would've made the game far too difficult to make when they gave us to option to sacrifice/save/kill certain characters. I'm just glad that they're no dissapearing completely.

Hmm well I'm glad the characters will still be NPCs so they're not completely written out and can still join you're group depending what you do. I also understand why Bioware is creating a brand new crew, they just want us to meet and interact with new and different character and since we don't know who these characters are, I say we wait before we condemn Bioware for this. Who knows, maybe they'll have a replacement for Wrex who's even funnier.

I'm not too surprised about the bloodbath ending. But it also seems Shephard can die depending on what you do which actually concerns me. Not on the quality of the game, it concerns me on a personal level, because I grew so attached to Shephard. If sacrificing him depends on doing the morally right thing.... that's going to be a hard choice to make.

Well done Bioware, you've made me feel how I would feel if I had to sacrifice my own life for others.

I never really liked my party anyway, the sucked. Ashly was just annoying, so I choose to kill her during that island level. And I shot Wrex on the same island. In fact I'm pretty sure half my party was killed on that island......oh good times. The only person I ever talked to was that biotic human guy (can't remember his name.) and that was only to get the sex scene to see what fox news was complaining about, and I found out, nothing.

2. I hope Tali is among the old NPCs that you can get back and is now romanceable.

Can't say I'm that bothered really.

Garrus was quite good, and Tali. In general though, they didn't make a great impression on me. My character was just a little bit on the psycho side because I just didn't care about any of the characters that much (in a positive way I mean, there were plenty of reasons to dislike some of them...).

If you saw the trailer it does say sheppard is KIA so that could be the same for the others.
