What does the Escapist think of this?
And him?
(And her if you like, but try not to dwell)

Right, OK that's going to sell.

Who would pay $1mil for an Xbox anyway? If it was a signed NES or Atari2600, I would shoot him in the face because he just destroyed one of the few remaining awesome pieces of gaming history. Then I would buy it and get rid of the autograph using a variety of chemicals that doesn't damage the finish.

I don't get all the hate for her. I'm not a U.S citizen, nor have I ever been there, so I certainly cannot make a call on the issue, but I've yet to hear anything bad about her - except a lot of hate, which seems to be for hate's sake. I'd love to figure out why this is so.

OT: Why anyone would pay for anything signed by anyone is beyond me. Oh look, it has lines on it... how nice.
she's basically the lightning rod of sensationalistic stupidity in american politics.

The explicit reason for the hate is easy enough to understand: she is an extremist. That of course is only inherently worthy of hate for those who occupy the other side of the equation. Perhaps, more importantly, while she is hardly alone in her position, she is something of a symbol of an idea set that is, for many, repulsive much the same way as Nanci Pelosi on the other side of the spectrum.

People tend to hate her because she is unbelievably stupid but thinks she can be president. It's a bit insulting.

EDIT: It's been said better above

They're squiggles.

All the hate is because... I actually don't know and I line in Chicago... She just seems kinda strange to me. And Saturday Night Live had an actress that looked erily similar.

Cool. I'd bring my Wii, personally. Because then I could sell it for upwards of sevedral ten-thousand dollars. Soccer moms love the Palin.

I don't care if the console was signed by Jesus, Steven Tyler and Darth Vader it still wouldn't be worth a million bucks.
Sarah Palin's "celebrity" status stoped being relevant after 2009.
Can we please ignore her, and can we also ignore the threats of her running for office, I think the American people are smarter than that.

OK fine, she's got some sort of librarian thing going on and that's sorta hot in a weird way... but beyond that, meh.

She's really not a good politician. She's used her time as governor for personal issues (hassling her step brother while in office), her family life is truly bad (17 year old daughter got pregnant out of wedlock and she's Catholic IIRC), and recently, she had the bullseye map defense [http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/24/sarah-palins-pac-puts-gun_n_511433.html]. Probably wouldn't have been much except for hey...

This happened [http://video.foxnews.com/v/4492782/shooting-suspects-family-breaks-silence].

Make no mistake, the guy is crazy and this is being turned into a political thing when it shouldn't be. It just shows that Sarah makes really, REALLY poor decisions in her political career.

He's nuts, she's nuts, that's WAAAAY too much money for a piece of hardware (roughly 4000 times listed price).

It's her attitude mixed with her ill advised (sometimes inappropriate or gravely misinformed) comments and actions. This is especially infuriating as she was nearly elected into a great position of power. And she's usually unapologetic about her stances.

Because every time she opens her mouth, out comes a stream of intolerance, religious puffery, racism, and outright bigotry, not to mention profound ignorance of any subject she sees fit to bring up.

All of the above is not necessarily enough to make one an object of hatred (ridicule, yes, hatred, not unless your priorities are whacked)...but the fact that she has Presidential aspirations and seriously influences the right wing of American politics to the point where yes, it's quite possible that her rhetoric had something to do with the shooting in Arizona? Now you see why the left (and even the center) want to see her euthanized.

She is dangerous---her very existence is detrimental to democracy because of her effect on the discourse.

Signed by the wrong person in my opinion. If it was signed by... I don't know... CEO of Bethesda or Valve, then it would be more appropriate.

I don't see how those two are correlated one bit. If anyone is going to sign my Xbox, they'd better be at Comic Con or E3. I don't want a crazy politician damaging my gaming equipment.

I have a few comics signed by the author, but that is more of a personal memory of getting to meet the authors. I guess signed objects have a history and possible to them even if you didn't personally get it signed. This certainly would be an interesting piece to have hooked up in your living room. But it only increases the value at best by 1000 for a more hard-core Palin fan. More probably it would be able to sell like a new 360 with the same specs.
