Two elementary schools in my area recently implemented a no-touch policy in their schools to curb a recent increase in playground injuries.

This is a strict policy that bans activities such as tag, holding hands, pushing people on the swings or helping someone up if they fall.
Does anyone else have a problem with such a policy? Personally, I have serious issue with preventing children from being children in the name of safety. I think that the moment "policy" replaces parenting, we have a serious problem. But still, there is only so much we can do. Children fall down and hurt themselves, that's what they do. They slip from the monkey bars, whether someone touched them or not, and sometimes tag gets a little competative, but banning such activities is going to cause problems.
In my old school, snowball fights were banned, and I thought even that was too far. What do you all think?
