Time for a non-family-friendly thread! If this thread catches on, it'll likely be filled with obscenity, so consider yourselves warned.

The idea is to post the strongest, most vulgar, and most ear-blushing, preferredly non-english swears and slurs you can think of. Post them in their native written form and try to translate them as well as you can. Swearing is an integral, yet often (for quite obvious reasons) overlooked aspect of any language in existence, so let's take this opportunity to enlighten each other. Likely the subtle nuances won't come through in a translation, but I'd love at least to know what they mean.

I'll get the ball rolling. I'll put it in spoiler tags, just in case this thread would be flagged for inappropriate content. Language: Finnish.
Perkele = basically the finnish name for Satan. Not so strong, but a very common word, and packs quite a punch when yelled with appropriate rage.

Kilinvittu = Baby goat's ****. One of the more exotic ones I've heard (from my dad, no less).

Kullihuuli = Literal translation would be "Dicklip". This one I heard a lot during my 9-month military service, as the usual conversations often descended into who was gay. It was spoken entirely in a non-hostile, brothers bickering sort of way, and was never used as an actual homophobic slur, but it is still quite saucy IMO

Ruskean reiän ritari = "Knight of the brown hole". This one hardly qualifies as a swear, and it's more of a joke than an actual slur, but I consider it to be quite imaginative. Figure out for yourselves what it's supposed to mean.

Go nuts!

Well, we're kind of funny, since we don't even have any native saucy swears here in Slovenia, not even remotely. Cross the border south, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia...well it sure gets saucy there, I don't even know how to pronounce half the stuff, and the language are similar.

Most Argentine swears have two very different rhetorical and literal definitions. The literal definition is oftentime nonsensical regarding the denotation of the insult.

Sobala = Suck it
Jodete = Fuck you (lit. "fuck yourself")
Pelotudo = Idiot (lit. "big-balled")
Boludo = Same as above.
Forro = Jerk, Asshole (lit. "condom")
Hijo de puta = Son of a ***** (lit. "son of a whore")
La concha tuya = Goddamn you (lit. "your pussy")
La concha de la lora = Goddammit! (lit. "parrot's pussy". Yep this one makes no nonsense at all)
Andate a la puta que te parió = Go fuck yourself (lit. "go back to the whore that gave you birth")
Me chupa un huevo = I don't give a fuck (lit. "it sucks my egg/ball")

I have some Argentine swears to share.

"La concha de tu hermana/madre!": Your sister's/mother's [female genitalia]. It is deliberately ambiguous whether the genitalia itself is praiseworthy or not. The point of the swear is to combine offensive-sounding things without making value judgements one way or the other.

"La puta que te pario!": The whore/***** who birthed you. Oddly, it is not often aimed at people, but at objects or just used as stress relief.

"Carajo! Mierda!": Fuck! Shit! Popularised by a rich, elderly talk show hostess who used this hilarious mashup of two different swears when she thought the cameras were off, this is one used almost always for comedy purposes.

"Hijo/Hija de puta!": Son/daughter of a whore/*****. I like this one, and I tend to drag the "j" sound (like an English "h" in "hello" or "how", but a lot stronger) quite a bit.

We also often use "puta" the same way English uses "fucking", appending it to anything for emphasis. We also refer to genitalia (both male and female, but quite a bit more often to female genitalia) when we want our swearing to grab attention. I have heard people say "De que verga estas hablando?" ("What the cock are you talking about?") several times, as well as the general expletive "La concha tuya!" ("Your [female genitalia]!") quite often.

I myself, prefer to invoke a general "Pero la puta!" (Literally: "But, the whore/*****!" Colloquially: "FUCK!"), since it's both generic and to the point. I'm very efficient with my swearing.

EDIT: Goddammit, Johnny! Ninja'd by a far more comprehensive post. And I thought I had read the thread first!

Oh, yes,

(there are more of these - look them up, I find them quite entertaining)

As for me...actually, I can't think of many popular saucy curses. Most are actually variants of "your mother..." with actually "your mother" itself as a phrase being considered an insult. You could string them together and make some on the fly but that would be cheating, I think - everybody can do it in any language.

Sort of offtopic - I don't think non-English speakers would be able to participate - non-native speakers perhaps, but not ones who don't know English at all :p

Ok then, here are some Flemish swears and insults. I'll be giving the literal translations first if possible, followed by their meaning or equivalent in english.

Godverdomme: goddamn
Kust mijn kloten: kiss my balls -> equivalent to fuck you
Klootzak: ballsack -> asshole

Janet: equivalent to ******
Sluitspiermusketier: sphincter musketeer -> derogatory term for a gay person
Choco prince: chocolate prince -> same as above. This term comes from Prince, a brand of biscuits with a chocolate filling similar to Oreos.
Anuslikkendekontkever: asslicking buttbeetle -> same as above

Scheefpoeper: crookedfucker -> term for a man who cheats on his steady partner
Aanhoudster: persevering woman -> it doesn't translate well, but depending on situation it can mean either a tease who leads men by the nose, a woman who cheats on her steady partner, a promiscuous woman or a combination.
Openbaar vervoer: public transportation -> derogatory term for a very promiscuous woman or sometimes a hooker i.e. she lets anyone ride her.
Allemansgerief: everybody's tool -> same as above i.e. anyone is free to use her
Matras: matras -> same as above i.e. anyone could lie down on her
Breezersletje: breezer slut -> term for young teenage girls who go to a lot of parties and get wasted on Bacardi Breezer alcopops, with the implication that this leads to them sleeping around
Tentsletje: tent slut -> term for woman who have multiple sexual relations in their tern in the context of a music festival

Makak: doesn't translate, but a derogatory term for someone of Arab descent, specifically Moroccans
Aaprikaan: aprican -> contraction of the words ape and african
That's all I can come up with right now.

Ferme ta geule = Shut your face (insult because you're comparing them to an animal)
Pute = *****
Couilles = balls

Haha wow, as a dutchman I find many of these hilarious!

Fun fact: A lot of dutch people view the flemish language as well as the people to be very polite and humble compared to the more blunt and forward dutch. The swear words seem comparatively mild, and to me, mostly original, which means its very amusing :)

Anyway, we dutch love to swear with diseases and genitals. Here we go:

Lul: Dick -> Used to describe someone who's a dick, basically.

Kut: **** -> Used as an expletive , both casually as in: "Aww that sucks" -> "That's ****" or to express anger when shouted.

Kutwijf: ****-***** -> Used to describe a nasty woman. Anything with "kut" in front of it is considered a rude way of saying that something sucks.

Kanker: Cancer(disease) -> Used as an expletive to express extreme anger. Almost nothing expresses more anger in the entire dutch language than a series of "kanker". Like "kut", can be used in conjunction with many words do describe that something is horrible.

Teringlijer: One who suffers from tuberculosis -> used to describe an asshole.

Mongool: It means both "Mongolian" as well as "person with downs syndrome". Not surprisingly, the latter meaning is inferred.

Sukkel: Idiot -> Used as a mild derogatory term.

Idioot: Idiot -> Stronger than "sukkel".

Shit: Shit -> Not used in curses, but an expletive borrowed from the english.

Fok: Fuck -> Only used in the same way as "shit" and "kut" never as a curse.

Randdebiel: Edge-retard -> Meaning full-retard, stronger than debiel on its own, meaning retard.

Mierenneuker: Ant-fucker -> Used to describe someone that is obsessed with minor details.

Kakker: Shitter -> Used to describe a posh person that likes to brag about how rich he/she is.

Now for the more inventive/rare ones:

Bosaap: Forest-ape -> Used to describe a slouch.

Baardaap: Bearded-ape -> Used to describe a dumb, bearded man.

Mislukte abortus/nageboorte: Failed abortion/afterbirth -> used to describe a person who has failed in life and should never have lived in the first place.

Komodoveraan: Komodo dragon -> Used to describe a person who drinks milk out of the carton, double-dip, or in any way spoil food by having its saliva touching it.

Verrekte zak hooi: Stretched bale of hay -> Used to describe an idiot. Old one.

Achterlijke dakhaas: "Retarded roof-hare -> Used to describe an idiot. Old one.

Note that most of these can be combined with each other, adding adjectives and nouns to create a nearly infinite supply of swear-words.

While English is my first language, my mother tongue (Maltese) still has its fair share of expletives.
"f'oxx il-liba ta' Gesu' li mar jahxi lil ommu f'halqha biz-zobb tal-Papa go sormu."

The literal translation is a bit nonsensical, but if you are easily offended by vulgarities directed towards religious figures, you may not want read any further, because this one is pretty much blasphemy in a can.
In the vagina the sperm of Jesus who went to fuck his mother in the mouth with the cock of the Pope in his ass.

The thing I love about Afrikaans expletives is how straight to the point and rough sounding it can be

fok = fuck
Kak = shit
Jou ma se poes = your mother's **** (the absolute worst one to say to any Afrikaans speaking person)
Poesneus = **** nose
Poesgesig = **** face
Doos = a ten times harsher version of 'douche'

Those are the best that come to mind.

I see I've been ninja'd. :)

Being from Quebec myself, I can chip in a little...

"Va Chier!" = Go fuck yourself! (literally, "Go take a dump!"

Interestingly, Quebecois culture tends to take French religious pronouns and mess them up a little. This goes back to the days when "swearing" literally meant invoking God in your own petty little Earthly matters, which was considered taboo. Give it a couple generations and people worked around that no-no by adding or subtracting letters, or changing the pronunciation.

"Tabarnak" really refers to the tabernacle, but we tend to use it as an all purpose word, a lot like the F-bomb. I could pretty much construct a sentence using primarily that word:

"Toé, mon tabarnak, m'en vas te câlisser une tabarnak de volée, tu vas t'en rappeler en tabarnak!"

Which essentially translates to: "You fucker, I'ma give you a fuckin' slap, you're gonna fuckin' remember it!"

As for "Ta gueule", which literally means "Your maw" (as in, shut it), we might twist it around a little and say "Ta yeule!", with a Y.

Then there's "esti", which is a corruption of "hostie", which refers to the host.

So, if you string all this together, you get:

"Ferme ta criss de gueule, mon esti de pute, m'en vas te donner un fucking char de marde, tabarnak!"

Or "Shut your fucking mouth, you fucking ****, I'm gonna talk you down, goddamnit!"

Which is what I'd say if I were really pissed off and felt the need to let someone of the female persuasion know I was *about* to meet up with them in person and further elaborate on my feelings...

Oh - and yes, Quebec being so close to Vermont and New England in general has exposed us to the complete panoply of standard American swears. We use "fuck" and "shit" quite liberally, often in the middle of French sentences. The more elaborate ones like "************" aren't really used by us Francophones - although there are exceptions.
