I was just wondering on everyone's oppinion about the noobs and rookies you find when gaming online.

Personnally I don't mind playing games with rookies, cause even though they might not be very helpful they are atleast trying to help out but just need more practice. And lets face it, we were like them at one point or another.

Noobs on the other hand really piss me off, they can make a game that's normally fun completely unbearable and wish alot of games could have monitors that kicked those people out.

OT: Due to some confusion.
My descriptions of noobs and rookies are as follows:

Rookies are the one's that are generally useless but are trying to help the team, even if it is a useless attempt

Noobs/Griefers are the ones who go out of their way to annoy everyone on their own team, like purposely standing infront of the guy with the sniper rifle, and every time the sniper moves they follow to try and stay in the way.

They all have a place in online games.
The rookies will learn, and tread upon the corpses of the slain.
The 'noobs' will supply some of those corpses, along with everyone else.

And are generally arseholes about that fact, pretending they're right.

Noobs I can't stand. Newbs (rookies) I have no problem with, you just need to help them get better and they'll grow into competant, regular players.

Everyone was a noob or rookie at one time in their life.
Even you?
I refuse to believe it!

What's the distinction between the two? Noobs are the ones who refuse to learn aren't they?
Maybe people who have played the game for a while but have not got the hang of some important things?

Beg to differ. Everyone may have been a rookie at some point, but a noob is someone who refuses to take advice from more experienced players.

Everyone has their place. You have to remember that these 'noobs' are probably completely different people ofline.

I don't mind playing with the newbies, everyone has to start somewhere and we were all once just like them. Plus, unless they posses natural talent, they're a pretty easy way of accumulating points.

newbies ftw in my opinion, they are the next generation of fodder for killstreaks, score or plain killin off for funsies. Anyways i love the newbies, in the games where u can teach ppl better ways of playin iv found ppl iv helped get better, who then have got far better than me in skill and thus teaming up is sooooo much better for me :)

/despise noobs though, they r a bunch of noobs (*captain obvious appears!*)

Really? Guess it's just me who enjoys seeking them out in particular on the battlefield and pounding them six ways from sunday... It's always hilarious to dominate that "1ee+ MLG 5N1P3R!"... Especially with your own headshots.

yeah i dont mind rookies at all, if anything they rack up my kills or im helping them learn and get better, but noobs i can't fucking stand, annoying as hell

like most people have said, been a rookie before, hell in some games i still am that i just got, but noob, no, never, and if i was, someone snipe me while im standing in front of their scope for a team kill =]
